When I used to jog up the Cathedral Stairs, I would always take the elevator down. Going down stairs is rougher on the knees.

When I've done big hikes (like out in Utah), holy hell coming down was brutal. It's like your legs are jelly.

Went for my physical today and it wasn't as bad as I thought: blood pressure and o2 levels were normal. A definite improvement considering I was bouncing between elevated and stage 1 hypertension a few years ago. I was usually a 125-130/80-85ish, but today I checked out with a 112/78.

The big surprise was my resting heart rate was below 60. 58 bpm actually put me in the excellent classification: https://www.topendsports.com/testing/he ... -chart.htm

Looking at my RHR on my garmin I average between 51-54 or so on a daily basis. I've dropped below 50 when sleeping sometimes haha. Based on your link at age 34(almost 35) that puts me as an Athlete haha.

At nighttime, my heart rate fluctuates between 42 and 45. Barring any other health issues, it's generally not a bad thing.

I hate the Pirates. F them.
That's my dilemma: I hate the Pirates and don't want to give them a dime but I want to run this race since there are a bunch of former co-workers that invited me when I was home two weeks ago.
Decided to sign up for it at that last minute, only to find out that two of the three people won't be making the drive. One had a party for his son and the other was hopping a ride from the first person. It wasn't even like they were hosting the party, but it's a party later in the afternoon. I don't have kids, so I wasn't gonna question the logic.

Oh well, they're the ones that burned $40, not me.

Eh, run is finished. Nearly forgot what it's like to run among the strollers and walls of walkers. My own fault for starting in back though.

Did the pirates 5k this morning.

My Garmin says I finished in 30:10 and did 3.3 miles at 9:10 a mile. The pirates site had me at 31:21 or something...so I think they just did clock time and not start time since I started at 11 minute mile pace and worked my way up.

Either way pretty happy with my run overall going off 2 hours sleep last night.

They put up net times...30:09 matches my Garmin though my Garmin showed 3.3 miles not 3.1...if I wouldn't have stopped to tie my shoes would have been under 30 minutes.

I like the Garmin watches because they have a step goal that adjusts itself as you go along. It's tough for me to hit the goal on workdays. Yesterday, with how nice the weather is, I ended up at over 11,000 steps, pretty much just from hanging around outside all day, playing with my daughter, going to the dog park, etc.

Hearing some of the step totals people with Fitbits say they are at, it makes me wonder if either their Fitbits count too many steps or mine doesn't count enough.

I like the adjustment thing too. Though today my goal is going to go way up because between the 5k yesterday and just being outside and doing things I had like 16k steps. My goal yesterday was like 7k something... I haven't looked today but I'm sure it will be over 10k because of the activity I had yesterday.

Too many steps - hit a bump driving in a car and you're getting 5-10 steps. Move your hand too quickly and you're getting steps.

I haven't noticed it near as much with my apple watch. My fitbit was off to this watch by like 1-3K steps routinely.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. With my Garmin, I know that unless I am actually walking, it doesn't count a single thing. In fact, it probably is slightly lower than what it should be.

On a bit of a whim, went on my longest run in months, just a hair over six miles (yes, I've been slacking over the winter). Basically, this run goes generally uphill the entire way out, and generally downhill the whole way back, close to 300 feet elevation climb. Ended up at about a 9:45 pace, which I am ecstatic about, but this is the first time I think I have "runner's stomach". It is not fun

Saw something that I haven't seen since 10th grade or so... 210's on the scale. Now it was 219.8, but I'm taking it! This is to my knowledge the smallest I've been in my adult life. I'm down 65 pounds from where I started, and am about 10 pounds away from my main goal of a "normal" BMI.

I also believe this means I legally own dodint's skates. Can any lawyers on the board confirm?

Just hide it with an untucked shirt, or put a book in front of it.

After nearly 20 years, the wire retainer on my back teeth came detached from the tooth on the end. This is annoying.
