Better than the fluid they inject into you for CT scans that makes you feel like you pissed yourself.
They ended up doing that as well. I got the double whammy. Though the IV stuff just made me feel really really warm.
Just getting you prepped for the Peach Bowl.

365 days in a row on MyFitnessPal. Lost 11 lbs this year, fwiw. Really didn’t try to lose much, but another 15 would’ve been cool. All things considered, with how much stress I’ve had for the last six months with work/job/moving, I’m surprised I didn’t gain weight.

My CT scan of my stomach/pelvis showed no abnormalities or anything anywhere. That is good I guess. My doctor wanted to do it after my bone marrow biopsy because he still can't figure out what is actually causing my secondary polycythemia vera. All the normal reasons that cause it.. I have none.

I lost my two year MFP streak about a week ago. Sad.

I had like a 1600ish day streak I broke sometime this past year. I was very sad.

I don’t make New Years resolutions. However, sometime in mid-January 2021 I set a goal to close all 3 rings on my Apple Watch for every day in 2021. Friday that goal was crushed. :fist: it wasn’t easy. The most difficult part was staying healthy. I wasn’t able to do that 100% but I powered through to get those workouts done. Joining the Peloton cult (no, I didn’t buy their bike. I use another brand that’s cheaper) was a major reason I was able to accomplish this. I’ve really enjoyed their platform.
I plan to continue but with a few more rest days than last year.
Here’s some of the adversity I faced in order to accomplish this:
3 different spin bikes
1 broken finger
1 broken toe
3 vaccine shots
2 AAHL evals (required attendance as a Board member)
1 weekend in Alabama
2 wicked head colds
1 trip to Chattanooga
8 months of plantar fasciitis
2 pulled back muscles
1 outdoor bicycle crash
1 trip to Asheville
1 Peachtree Road Race
1 trip to Destin
2 different iPhones
2 different Apple Watches
1 moderate ankle sprain
1 nagging wrist sprain
1 nasal infection

What length Peloton rides do yinz usually roll with? I like the 30 minute rides but they always leave me wanting a little more. 45 seems like it would be more in my wheelhouse. My last half-dozen 30 minute rides I think I've been anywhere between 255-275 W...somewhere in the vast middle of the leaderboards.

I generally do 30-minute rides as I do them over lunch during the workday. On the weekend I'll go up to 45 minutes.

I'll caveat that by saying that I'd really like it if the rides had almost no in ride warmup. If I want to stack a 5 to 10 minute warm-up before a ride that should be up to me. So my real answer is I'd prefer 28 to 30 minutes of intensive riding program instead of waiting to get into it. The 30 minute Power Zone rides have an 11 minute warm-up, it's dumb.

That's a good point...I wouldn't mind as much if the 30 minutes did NOT include the warmups.

usually I'm doing 30 minute rides but sometimes I'll stack 2 shorter rides. Two 20 minute rides seem to be the sweet spot for me.
when it comes to Power Zone the 45 minute Endurance rides are my favorites. I still haven't done a PZ Max ride yet. they scare me. :scared:

For Power Zone its the standard rides, that work in zones 3-6, that I like. I wish there were more of them as I very rarely repeat bike classes.

Saw my blood doctor again this morning. After both my ct scan and bone marrow came back clean...he is basically at a loss as to what is the primary cause of my polycythemia. All the normal causes...I have none.

He said I could try and get tested for sleep apnea, but he doesn't think that is it. Plus I got tested for that when I was 150lbs heavier and had a very mild case.

I mean I'm glad it's not leukemia, or cancer or anything, but it's still frustrating. So now we just repeat the process ever 6 weeks or so. I go get blood drawn, if numbers are good...then I leave. If they are elevated I get a bag of blood taken out. Could be worse I guess.

Yeah I've been doing this for several years now....it's just part of my life I guess, and always will be.

Today they were really short staffed and the poor nurse lady is running around trying to give chemo to people and other things and apologizing profusely for making me wait. I'm like take care of them first I'm just hear for you to tap my veins and leave. You could tell she was relieved that I wasn't some douchebag that was going to complain.

Then she stuck me and I felt nothing at first, then she had to adjust slightly and that hurt like a mofo. I tried so hard not to react cause I knew she would feel awful, but I think I winced a bit and she started apologizing again. Felt awful for her. Then I had a mini hot flash at the end as she was taking out the last little bit of blood....which rarely happens, and she made me put my feet up on the chair and lay back for a few minutes haha. Once I got another apple juice in me I was good though.

I only had time for a 20 min ride so decided to try one of the metal rides. Well, that was stupid

She was doing an 85 cadence at 85 resistance. Come on.

I've never had an instructor call out cadence higher than 70.

I did a Kendall Toole warmup ride where she wanted 120 cadence. :scared:
