If my leg survives my kayaking trip to Tennessee next weekend I'm going to resume riding my Peloton on Sept 26th. I've had the subscription paused the last two months on account of my inability to exercise.

In that time I've lost ~20lbs simply by limiting myself to 2000 calories a day. Hoping my return to cardio exercise helps that weight loss effort as I still have many more pounds to go. I'll be disappointed if I start putting on muscle and hurting the number on the scale, as has happened in the past.

How much of a departure has 2,000 calories been versus your "normal" intake?

It is not really the number so much, as the restrictive act of counting. I bet when I am freewheeling food I am doing about 3200-3500 a day, mostly snacking on crackers and stuff.

Having a stop sign goes a long way. I am not even hungry at 2000 calories.

Maybe.

It was tough to get around on crutches at 295. Figured I owed it to myself to take some of the dead weight away. Shooting for 250 by end of year and 230 by Easter. We'll see.

I'm very excited about Peloton starting the rowing classes. we bought one of these off of Kickstarter and I recently got around to assembling it.

Somedays you just need a Cody Rigsby 30 minute pop class where he goes off on Taylor Swift and yells about people going apple picking in September. That is what I needed this morning haha.

On the rower thing...that looks cool @shoeshine boy . Not sure if I have room for something like that, and I'm sure the Peloton official one will be super expensive, but that one you linked looks nice for a good price point.

yeah, I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going to put it. right now it's in the middle of my living room floor. I think if I clean up the basement I can make it work.

So I think I settled on just the regular bike. The used market doesn't really have them going below $1000, so I guess for an extra $500 more I get brand new and warranty. I might as well just do that.

I think that's a solid choice. you've got a referral code from one of the Peloton owners (I use the app and a Schwinn IC4) here?

They are too small and have never been worn, 'natch.

Yea, sadly I already have one lol. I've had a litany of people throw them at me, and I am choosing my next door neighbor lol.

On the topic of health (sorry to break up the Peloton talk), I got to start my day, a travel day too, with an IV. Woke up due to tingling and numbness in both arms and one leg. Tried to ignore it but since I have great health, my brain was screaming at me to get it checked. Went to the Urgentcare/ER and after passing a neuro test and getting a CT and bloodwork, they found a low potassium level. So they put a bag of potassium in me for an hour. Given what other things it could have been, this is just a small drop (or drip drip drip). But it also reminds you that no matter how good your health is, don’t ignore signs that might pop up.

@meow has not mentioned having a Peloton once (at least that I remember) so who knows.

I misinterpreted the question. I thought you were looking for username suggestions.
