So my Pixel 6 asked me if I wanted to turn on Cough and Snore detection. Both parents and my brother all have various forms of sleep apnea, so I enabled it.

When my phone goes into Bedtime mode, it will use the microphone to detect and chart when I snore or cough. Pretty interesting stuff, but I wonder if my wife's snoring (and coughing, as she is still getting over the flu she had last week) is getting picked up by my phone. It says I only coughed once and snored over 13 minutes throughout the night. She goes to bed early (teacher, ugh) and was very asleep when I went to bed, and it did show snoring minutes after I got into bed. So it might pick her noise up as well. He iPhone doesn't track that sort of thing to my knowledge.
My wife would be all over this app. She complains of my snoring keeping her up, but she herself snores. Problem is she is a very light sleeper and I'm the opposite. I pretty much slept through all 3 kids crying through the night. (sorry obhave)

1000 rides in less than two years is insanely impressive! I don't even know how I would find the time or energy.

I assume these are a mix of high and low intensity workouts?

Gonna finish with 670 rides this year on Peloton and 15,547 total workout minutes.

Not too shabby. Not my best year overall with my weight with my mom passing and just eating like trash in general....but Peloton kept me from blowing up like crazy at least. I'll take it.

That's awesome. That includes warm ups and cool downs right? I don't mean that to take away from it at all so sorry if it comes out that way lol

Haha no worries. Yep that includes warmups and cooldowns.

I hardly ever do warmups though. I do cool downs though not as much as I should at least recently.

I tend to tack on 10 minute low impact rides to cool down after a workout.

Ok. Finally the numbers you people put up makes sense. I thought you were a machine hammering Kendall metal rides twice a day.

I try and do cool downs, but a lot of times I take the dog for a 1-2 mile walk that kind of acts as one. I also like doing the brisk walk right after the workout for extra intensity minutes on the Garmin.

I've actually been doing some metal and hard rock rides from the chick from Germany when I do those... Charlotte I think is her name?

I can't understand anything she is saying but they are pretty tough and sometimes her music selection is better than Kendall's.

Good news. Cancer rates have decline 33% since 1991, when it was at it's peak. Some driving forces are early detection, advancement in medicines, and decrease in smoking.

Doctors have seen a recent uptick in cancer deaths recently, mainly because people canceled their regular doctor appointments during the pandemic so some early detection that would have been caught was not and the cancer was not found until advanced stages.

I missed this post Christmas.

it's definitely a mix and a chunk of that is because I like to do two 20 min rides back to back. those 20 minute rides are often tougher than the 45 minute rides.

I tried one of the Peloton strength workouts on Tuesday, 20 minute arms and shoulders. I was really impressed with the workout, I haven't dusted off the free weights in a year or two and it felt good.

Of course, my arms were a little sore yesterday, which I actually welcomed and didn't mind. However, last night and today, the pain in my arms feels like it has tripled; on top of that, I somehow wrenched my lower neck/upper back while I was sleeping last night (this happens several times a year and sucks every time). This has to be the worst case of DOMS I've ever had

My wife just started that same kind of program on Peloton. Her arms and abs are on fire.

The best part is the instructor is using these massive weights and not breaking a sweat.

THat's actually one of my weird things about the bikers. I feel like sometimes they're just riding and not actually doing what they're suggesting.

Some of these dudes look like they're just effortlessly peddling on a 20 resistance.

Tunde's arms and light weights that are like 10 minutes long are no joke. Arms are dead by the end.

I can barely use 5lb weights the whole time.

I used my free weights that were already loaded for 10 lb. each--it didn't *feel* like I was destroying my arms but apparently I was. I always forget how brutal those overhead presses are.

Scheduled the consult for my vasectomy today. It's at the end of the month and sounds like they aren't scheduling procedures until April at this point.

I was chatting with a cowork who was scheduled for one and then the covid outbreak hit and his wife got pregnant.... NOPE. Gonna get that snip!

You guys were always stopping at 1, right?

It's not bad at all. The numbing injection, for me, was the worst part of the entire process and thankfully it only lasts a couple seconds (for each testicle, of course).
