Have fun. I enjoyed the years I did it but I'm not sure I'll ever bother again. When I lived 15 minutes away it was easy, now that I'm in the next county, nah.

Well, actually, I'll likely do it again but stay in a hotel.

Yeah we did it one year. I'd like to do it again, but I haven't legit done any running in a while now. I'd need to build myself back up to that, and I don't know if I have it in me at this point ha.

Really did not like a rock class with Jenn Sherman I just did. Talked the whole time, engaged with the studio audience, sang horribly, and stopped most of the time to motivate. Did not like it.
I like Sherman but probably becuae I like most of her music. she does stop a lot and this is a hot topic in Peloton Facebook groups. in the end, it's your workout not theirs but I could definitely do without the singing. I mean, when Lizzo sang during the Lizzo ride, that was different.
my fav is Christine D'Ercole mostly because she plays a lot of New Wave stuff. she's been off the bike recently though because she crashed during a track cycling race. she had a broken collarbone, 2 broken ribs, scapula broken in 2 places and a ton of road rash. her teammate had a pretty significant hip injury. yikes! :scared:

I think the singing is the biggest turn off. I'd rather be "coached," but that's just me. She sucks at singing though, and every song she had to sing something - just garbage lol.

So I go to get my physical once a year... largely just a check-up and since I have a fall birthday, it's really nice to get my flu shot while I'm there. A couple annoying things and one surprising thing today...

Annoying: My appointment is 8:40. They say to arrive by 8:20. I roll in at 8:15, check in, wait until 8:45 to go in, the nurse does her thing, I get my flu shot, then they ask me to change into a gown. So I get in the gown, by this point it's about 9, and I sit there for 20 minutes. It's not exactly warm in there and I just have this gown on. Doc comes in. Says my bloodwork looked good, which I replied "that's odd because I didn't do any blood work...". She says "you didn't? Oh... okay." Checks me over for about 5 minutes, says have a good day, see you next year, off she goes.

First off, I didn't need to wear a freaking gown. There was no part of that you couldn't have done with my regular clothes on, secondly, wtf took so long? Finally, how are you just that nonchalant about straight up lying and saying my bloodwork looks good when you didn't look at any damn blood work numbers?

Anyways, my blood pressure was 108 over 66. Shockingly low considering it had been in the 130s over 80s in years past.

Going to the doctor when you're not sick is a scam...

I don't typically think about my health, so once a year sitting and gathering my thoughts about how the past year went and if I have any health questions that I should ask about is beneficial, imo. I had her check a couple moles. Asked about how to go about getting a vasectomy. Got my flu shot. Updated all my medical details. etc. Worth it for me.

I last had a physical in November 2020, although I think I visited my doctor in 2021 at some point. We talked about whatever, a rash I had at the time, and that I would have to start getting colonoscopies in a few years (I was 47 at the time, now 49 next month). Then the last year or so, I keep seeing how I'm supposed to start annual colonoscopies at 45. Which is it?

I think they just recently changed recommendations on that. But I'm not entirely sure as I'm not that old yet.

Why even have you get in a gown? I've never had to get in a gown unless I'm at the hospital?

That's what I was kind of confused about... it's like that doctor from Scrubs that makes you take your pants off no matter what.

I honestly haven't been put in a gown for any of my yearly physicals. This was my 5th one with this doc.

they changed it to 45 within the last year or so. my SO is 48 and had her first colonoscopy back in June.
good news is, the prep isn't nearly as bad as it was when I had my first one (non routine) in the late 90s.

New recommendation for the pooper camera is 45. Check with your insurance first. Not all have shifted from 50 to 45

Yeah, I've heard the 45 thing too. Which would mean it's time for me to get scoped. I'll ask my GP about it at my next appointment.

I mean, they're gonna say yes regardless...just make an appointment. Get a nice book. Or set your tablet up with game 4 of the 1991 Final or, if you're in a hurry, game 7 of the 2009 Final and then let strangers jam things in your dumper until they're bored with you...

The last time my wife did that (medically, I mean) they put her under a general anesthetic.

Yes. That's the standard for the last ten years at least I think. Crohn's has granted me a number of these already...all sleepy times.

BTW @count2infinity, great news on your BP. :thumb: Is your resting heart rate down? Just curious what you've noticed

Are we actually believing that they took c2i's BP correctly?

I haven’t really done anything for my BP to go down besides walking. I walk 2-5 miles every day (provided it’s not pouring down rain). My resting HR is down to 58-62 depending on the day. That’s down from 65-68 at the start of summer and the start of my walks. Also my VO2 max (whatever that is) has been on the rise the past 6 months.

Weird how much waking might help heart health.

Minor peloton annoyance. If I pick a HIIT ride it's because I want full recovery between intervals. It annoys me when they sneak in a tabata section in a normal HIIT ride.

If I wanted half recovery I'd have picked tabata in the first place lol.
