Three days in and no end in sight. Most annoying thing for me is that I've been using MFP/ Garmin religiously during this cut, and I hate that I can't sync my active calories over to MFP right now.

good news: put up my best time in the Lemieux 6.6k, finishing well under the 40 min mark that I usually set for myself.
bad news: virtual race, so no factoring hills or heat into the mix. I even had an iFit map made so I could run the race as close to it's equivalent on a treadmill. I feel like it's my "abbreviated season/asterisk" equivalent of running this year's race.

UPMC is now changing up chiropractic visits to now require there to be an actual injury and a treatment plan, rather than allowing maintenence visits.
Kind of annoying, because I feel it really helps me keep everything good.

so I got my results back from my MRI: partially torn labrum in my shoulder. They mentioned two forms of surgery, one of which would involve relocating a bicep tendon to minimize the chance of future injury. There was another surgery that they recommended, but they said they wanted to steer away from that because of a) I'm old, and b) the success rate without a followup because I'm old is only like 50%.
I had a friend recommend PRP, which sounds interesting. Basically uses your own blood to heal itself. UPMC does it but it is not covered by insurance.
https://www.upmc.com/-/media/upmc/servi ... ealing.pdf
Pros: no surgery, no relocating tendons, quicker recovery time. I've read some people being pain-free in 3-4 weeks.
Cons: may not work, not covered by insurance, expensive AF at $600 a pop.

Ah ****, shoulder injuries are the worst...
Is there a rough idea about how many "pops" you'd need at 600 hundo...?

For $600 you should get at least two.

Yeah, I've been dealing with it for awhile. Luckily it doesn't effect the golf swing much, so I can at least ride out the rest of the season. Apparently I had an MRI in 2012 for the same thing that I totally forgot about. But it's been getting more noticeable in the last year or so.Ah ****, shoulder injuries are the worst...

I'm hoping I would need only one but I have enough in the HSA to get at least two.
That's what I was thinking. I was told by a friend that they weren't cheap, so I figured around 300-400. I think the sticker shock is gonna hurt more than the actual injection. For $600 you should get at least two.
Ended up calling in for an appointment, and that doc is booked out until mid September.

Minimum goal for my Lemieux 6.6k time was 32 minutes, hoped to get sub-30, ended up smashing that and getting sub 29:30. I’ve been focusing on my 5k time so that extra mile at a fast pace was a killer.

I've done a couple 5 milers at the beach.
The flat running is definitely nice, but the higher heat and humidity in the morning make up for it.

As far as running is concerned nothing in my experience has been better than coastal NC in the fall. I used to run 7 miles on my lunch break like it was no big deal.

I've wanted a rower for years but home rowers are usually crazy expensive. I hope this pans out:

The sliding mechanics for the standard rower setup don’t look great. Almost like a rower that only costs $199 lol. Obviously an early prototype and they’ve received a ton of backing so hopefully build models get a bit of a upgrade because I’ve also always wanted a rower but they’re too damn expensive.I've wanted a rower for years but home rowers are usually crazy expensive. When I went out to Vegas for my sister's wedding, I'd run 6 every morning. Was kinda weird seeing the strip being that quiet except for other runners and a few walkers of shame from the night prior. As far as running is concerned nothing in my experience has been better than coastal NC in the fall. Decided to run a 10k on our last day here. Broke my PR by almost two minutes (9:01/mile to 8:47/mile). In fairness I haven't run a ton of 10Ks but the flatter ground definitely helps

My weight fluctuates from day to day, but for the first time in probably more than 20 years I've had some weighings come in under 220 lbs. Suits that I bought back in law school and have been too small for years are now a bit too big.

that is awesome! my SO had to tell me yesterday that the jeans I've been wearing for probably 10 years are too baggy now. so I grabbed my stash that's a size smaller. even those are just a little too big.My weight fluctuates from day to day, but for the first time in probably more than 20 years I've had some weighings come in under 220 lbs. Lots of walking and calorie counting. If you don't already highly recommend getting a food scale. I measure just about everything.
Health and Fitness
I haven't really been calorie counting, although I have been trying to generally eat less. It's pretty much just been the daily exercise. I didn't even set out to lose weight. The exercise was recommended by my doctor for helping with my anxiety disorder. Some of the weight loss was just due to stress from the anxiety.

I’ve got a 30 day streak on MyFitnessPal. I lost about a pound a day the first week, and nothing since then. Up and down, within a pound. I measure my food, use the recipe builder to get exact calories for 75% of the meals I eat, and routinely stay 100+ calories below my limit.
I think with the return to work, my body has been “off” even though I’m eating less and not around food. I think it’s a micronutrient issue, but I also need to step up the exercise. I’ve got the calories set to lose 1.5 lbs. per week, which should be very doable.

DG... Please feel free to PM me if I can help or even just take a look at what you're doing to see if I notice anything.
For the first time since high school, perhaps, I'm in the 140s. 149.6. I'm getting pretty darn close to switching gears and starting a bulk.
It's crazy... I was 190 four years ago and it's crazy how much older I looked then. Now, I'm ever so slightly showing a six pack... I just wish I wouldn't have skipped ab workouts so much if I had to guess I think my BF is down around 13% or so
