We considered 2 from the start, but after the first pregnancy and infant stage? Nah. 1 is okay with me. I won’t put my wife through that again.

Yeah, I’ve heard many stories of it being no big deal. For me the hardest part is probably going to be taking it easy. I’m an up and at em kind of guy.

Yeah the shot is the worst part. Everything else after that is smooth sailing. The burning tissue smells weird and hearing the buzzing sound is also odd but it's really not bad.

I also didn't even get the full drug dose prior cause I had to drive myself home after so I wasn't even that drugged up.

Actually going back to whack off in a cup is the weirdest thing about it all. Especially when it's like 80's porn you gotta watch. I think I pulled up porn hub on my phone eventually lol.

I got to jerk it at home then awkwardly carry the cup in a brown paper bag into the doctor’s office

My wife came home from work with a fever and congestion. This is the 4th cold/flu/COVID she's had since early December. Elementary schools are petri dishes. And I wish parents could keep their kids home when sick. I also wish my wife could stay home when sick.

My daughter has been pretty much just a constant flow of snot and coughing this winter. Definitely one of the worst ones so far.

Things seemed to be settling down here, until our son puked about 15 times overnight.

This winter has **** sucked

I am likely going to give Noom a shot. If anyone has a referral code I would be happy to use it and get you, I think, $20 credit.

My son did that on Thursday. Threw up from 7pm to 6am next day. At 7am, was totally fine and back to normal.

My son has it now. Started Saturday night and continued last night. Hopefully the end is in sight today.

Hit 205 on the squat rack for the first time ever. Only 5 more lbs than my previous best, but between hurting my foot in May and getting COVID in September, I'm shocked at how quickly I was able to get back to this point.

Could be the norovirus? It’s been ripping through certain areas. Hit our entire house last week. Going to the bathroom non-stop (both ways for some people), dizzy, body aches, etc. Lasts 2 days.

Sweet. PRs are always fun. :thumb:

Re: getting back to that point. It's a pretty nice feature that you'll generally be able to maintain your max strength for around 30 or so days...but stuff like cardio will start fall off around seven days or so...

So dumb question but I really don't know where else to ask and not look like a total noob. Yinz already know I am.

I've been walking on a local bike trail since the start of the year and I'm getting a little bored with it. I want to change it up and also thought it's a good time to join a gym. I think planet fitness is going to be my launching pad to get started.

1: I've heard they will not let you easily cancel. Is that still the truth? If I find that I can only go during crazy times or for some other reason want to cancel, am I going to be able to do so with relative ease?
2. Are there any online or app based programs that will provide me with a beginners plan to tackling specifically what planet fitness has to offer? I'd like to make this as foolproof as possible to start. Additionally if there is one, and the app has some sort of tracking system that'd be a bonus.

Full disclosure, I'm no stranger to a weight room but it's definitely been many years since. I'm 110% back to beginner mode on everything. Also, I'm sure someone is going to say "join a different gym". I will, once I figure out where I want to go. For now I'm looking for very beginner basic stuff to lay a decent foundation.

Had no trouble canceling Planet Fitness.

Can't speak for a specific app for PF workouts. They don't have like a bench press there (they have benches and Smith machines) and other "meathead" stuff there...so, plan accordingly. But same rules apply, make a 5x5 workout work in there or whatever you like...

I canceled my PF membership a few months ago with very little hassle. I say "very little" because I did have to *gasp* go into my home gym to cancel. I loved my PF but like a lot of folks, stopped going during COVID. after buying my own spin bike and joining Peloton, I know longer feel the need to go to a traditional gym. I looked into canceling without going in but you had to do something like send a letter certified mail stating that you wanted to cancel so I just went in and they were great. they did ask why and as soon as I said, "I bought a Peloton during COVID" (kind of true) they didn't say another word.
I'd renew in a heartbeat if I needed a gym. I loved how during COVID they posted nightly workouts on their Facebook page for anyone to use for free. they didn't have to do that.

Didn't have a problem cancelling PF.

The one thing I didn't like about pf is the lack of space allowed to free weights and actual useful machines. They can get pretty full pretty quickly.

5 reps 5 times?
https://stronglifts.com/5x5/

This is a good "base" workout, especially if you're just getting back into it...but these are the ones that matter. After you get tired of/get used to this, then you start to branch out...but this would be a good way to get you back into it, in my opinion...

I volunteered to be a guinea pig for an exercise science capstone class here on campus. I meet with a student who interviews me and designs an exercise program for me, and then get 4 weeks of 2x a week 45 minute training sessions. What could go wrong?

I have been using this app called Fitbod.. Helps with planning your workout, and lets you pick through the desired weights/machines to plan everything

The worst that can happen is being unable to walk properly 2 days after your first leg day. Other than that, you'll be fine ;)
