Yeah... I actually collaborate with them in my current position. They do some cool work there.

If you get it, make sure you tweet about it.A job just opened up at NASA which I'm very qualified for, and it's in Cleveland. I wonder how many hundreds, maybe thousands of people are going to apply for this. No way I even get a call, but I gotta try.

It is a pretty big center. In classic Cleveland fashion, everyone always worries that the NASA's facility will close down in any minute, and Cleveland will lose yet another chunk of well-paying jobsHuh. TIL that NASA has research facilities in Cleveland.

Here’s an icebreaker for the next office party: The third leading cause of workplace death—behind “falls to a lower level” and “roadway collisions with other vehicles”—is homicide.

Hmmph... put my resume together to submit for that NASA job, and what do I see? It's only for people that are currently working at NASA already. I'm guessing they have to open it to internal applicants first and then they'll open it up if they don't find someone?

NASA is different, but in traditional FedGov the internal application and outside candidate announcements are ran concurrently. Maybe poke around and see if it's listed twice?

Not all positions are open to outside us citizens.

Right. But he should still look for a concurrent announcement.

Unfortunately it looks like it’s internal only. Hopefully he finds something different.Right. But he should still look for a concurrent announcement.

It’s not a huge deal. I love my current position, but I have family in Cleveland and it’s freaking NASA. Really those are the only two reasons I’d apply.

Don't lie, you were looking at a beer job there too.

I went to pour myself a cup of coffee, and the carafe was quite full. I splashed a bit onto the counter and the floor, so after I was finished filling my cup, I grabbed a paper towel, and wiped it up. After I wiped it up I looked up and one of the ladies from the office was there and said "Thank you..." "For what?" "For cleaning up after yourself."
Apparently she and a few others have been fighting battles with people from the manufacturing floor that just spill sh*t everywhere and walk away. I always go home for lunch, but apparently it's really bad around lunch time. What kind of animal spills stuff and then just walks away from it like that?

We've got a few. The microwave never gets wiped out and the fridge frequently has science experiments in it. I end up cleaning and heaving just about everything in the fridge.I went to pour myself a cup of coffee, and the carafe was quite full.
