How do I handle this?
For the first time in my life, I'm actually frustrated that I come and have to sit in an awful waft of BO smell day after day. I'm trying to avoid stereotypical things, but I just can't handle this anymore. Do I request to be moved? Do I submit an HR ticket complaining about lack of hygiene?

I would request to be moved first, and if that were denied, talk to HR. It's a legitimate complaint.

And I'll just nip this in the bud now... don't "be a man" and approach said person yourself. Can lead to all sorts of issues.

lol I would never publicly shame anyone about hygiene. This, unfortunately, is a large group of people who all seemingly follow the same hygiene patterns, again I'm trying to avoid stereotypes.
It's gotten to the point that some days are worse than others, and today happens to be the worst in awhile.

You must really enjoy going in to work in the summer.

I haven't got that far yet. This is a group of new hires that started in November. I don't know if they'll be around long - but in 2+ years this is easily the worst it's ever been.

I know Mork works in IT... they're Indian, yes?
In my experience, people can be very hit or miss from India as far as hygiene is concerned. I sat next to a guy from India for 5 years in grad school, not once did I smell any BO or off smell from him. Another girl in our lab from India (same city as the dude) smelled like she bathed in perfume every morning. A third from India had some of the worst BO I've ever encountered in my entire life.

This is my experience. Some are very much worse than others. This group seems to all hang out with each other so either one masks all, or they're all bathing in the same poop.I know Mork works in IT... they're Indian, yes?

If all else fails, buy potpourri in bulk until it overpowers their stench.

don't think i've ever been to a catered meeting where there wasn't at least 98% of the food left over at the end. this person knows what they're doing. We've had people around here who just take catered lunches that are saved for meetings. Countless times someone just walks up, grazes the table and walk away and it's clearly not for them. You'd get murdered for something like that around here. Nearly every company lunch ends up with leftovers that are eaten the next day as company lunch 2.0.
I do not understand people.

situational. for my boss i wait 15. for a subordinate i wait 5-7. 5 if it's a person i don't want to talk to.If you have a 30 minute meeting with one other person and they are late, what is the appropriate amount of time to wait for them until you hang up and send them the “I’m not mad, I’m disappointed” email?

Which is fine, the protocol is it's always good to rummage through after meeting. This happened before the original group had started to eat.don't think i've ever been to a catered meeting where there wasn't at least 98% of the food left over at the end. this person knows what they're doing. We've had people around here who just take catered lunches that are saved for meetings. They are pumping white noise into our office now to deal with employees talking to each other (in our COLLABORATIVE WORK SPACES).
It's driving me up a freaking wall. I need to invest in better headphones.

@columbia had a post about not wanting to get promoted or being happy at his current job, and I agree with that entirely.
At some point in academia, you leave the realm of actual academic work and ascend into this glad-handing, fundraising, schmoozing with board member territory that I find repulsive.
For instance, this past weekend was homecoming (yes, as we don't have a football team, our homecoming is during basketball season). My social media feed was filled with various administrators taking pictures with alums, going to various sporting events, and by Sunday, looking positively miserable. One administrator, who is an introvert, looked like she was being held against her own will in some of those pictures.
No thanks.
