My preliminary stance is I would consider calling a doctor that I know fairly well "doc" and doctors that I don't know well "doctor"

Not often I agree with a mikey take, but this one isI also don't have a lot reverence for my fellow man...we're all just humans...not too many people are "better" than others, doctors, professors, people that lead churches whatever they're called, priests, ministers, whatever...you're just some guy...some guys get called "doc"...

Sucks there's no money in working at breweries. Both Fatheads and Platform are hiring heads of their quality departments. I doubt the salaries they're looking to give are much more than half what I make now.

Take both jobs. Ez, ur welcome.

If you can match you're current pay and do what you like that's worth it. Also, you have an incentive to do better doing something you like.Sucks there's no money in working at breweries. I was just asked if my team supports door badge readers (we don't), because a manager wants to install one in a conference room to confirm who was in attendance. This sounds like micro management to the nth degree, but who knows.

I thought so, too. I've never heard of any company ever doing this.

I feel bad for whoever works for that manager. And I doubt my company will be willing to spend money on something like that.

Tell him to show up at the meetings so he can see who is there.

A sheet of paper and a pen also accomplishes the same thing if you really need to see who is in a meeting

In other news, I'm working with a vendor and am having an issues with one of the workflows that we need to validate. They say it's possible, so I ask them to send me the configuration settings. Instead, they ask me to send them my current configuration settings. They want us to purchase their product, but they're wasting a lot of my time just getting this **** working.

For our company wide training sessions, we have a sign in sheet for our training log to be filled out. The same can be done for a meeting if need be.A sheet of paper and a pen also accomplishes the same thing if you really need to see who is in a meeting
Btw, how big are these meetings that they can't just look around the room and know who is there and who isn't?
Job and General Employment Thread
But also who doesn't trust their staff enough to know that they'll either attend the meeting if necessary or at the very least gather the information they need in order to be able to do their job after the fact?

and if you tailgate in behind someone or go to swipe and it doesn't register, then their theory goes to crap.I was just asked if my team supports door badge readers (we don't), because a manager wants to install one in a conference room to confirm who was in attendance.
