yes but is it more or less than THE BIG MAN earns
More variable but probably similar, in the quarter million a year neighborhood total comp.

They work a ton though.
do they work more than "cool and calculated," "absolutely brilliant" agents such as drew rosenhaus

Have you done a longitudinal study over a stratified random sample?

There are days where I get so annoyed with people at work. Almost everyone that handles any type of request throws up roadblocks with hoops.

My boss made the request guy, your boss and I are on the same level and report to the boss making the request. Just do it.
I don't know why people bother to throw up roadblocks anyway. Like, if it needs done Im just gonna escalate until you do it. So do us both, and our managers, a favor and do it.

Our CIO submitted a ticket for an issue that she was having in Citrix. One of her support people IMs me asking about it, and I direct her to the correct group. She proceeds to do absolutely nothing, the ticket remains in our queue, and hits the SLA. So, I have to be the bus driver here and throw her under because she didn't bother following through.

At most, they're prolonging the effort by 2-3 days for the process to complete. Just take it into your workload and deliver it slowly. At least we don't have to dance then.

Ironically enough, someone on his show asked yesterday how much he makes between his radio show/appearances/writing and side gigs.

Guy guessed $150-200k.

Madden laughed it off. So far low it was unbelievable.

A bit before that - he basically said he was in the same echelon as Mikey and Big BLERB of the Kiss FM morning freak show (or w/e they call it).

More money in radio than we think.

Is anyone else's workplace rolling out "active shooter" training?

Had a course last year about an active shooter. Luckily the only guy I'd worry about here I'm cool with.

Been doing it for about 5 years in the DoD. The last year in NC they actually did a simulation; they had a Marine with a safety vest and an empty rifle running around. Not sure what they meant to accomplish since they really had to make sure everyone knew the exact time, place, and nature of the event so he didn't get shot. Just, weird.

We just have to watch some video, but now they're also having some round table discussion with a seemingly random collection of folks in the company. It's just like all of a sudden this is some issue that has to be addressed.

Had an online course last year and this year. This year also got offered an optional one where they actually had someone come in and simulate an actual situation in one of the big conference rooms.

The notion of "active shooter" training is a drastic overreaction. There was a recent article run by KDKA (link below), coupled with a radio interview with a training company, that hyped up the fact that workplace shootings had increased a whopping 50% from 2016 to 2017. I tracked down the actual data, and while the number did in fact increase 50%, the increase was from 20 to 30 incidents. Considering there are more than 30 million business in the United States, and many business have multiple workplaces, the odds of being involved in a workplace shooting are vanishingly low.

Our office usually has an hour seminar every year about active shooters and safety policies.

We had an initial training session, but haven’t done anything since. I see no harm in it, and disagree with the “it’s useless” opinion. It’s still better than nothing

I didn't go to ours, but apparently the cops giving the seminar prior to the live training tried to blame video games.
