I know. I'm weird. I honestly just don't like to rock the boat, even if it's to my own detriment. But like I told the husband, now's a good time - before I get complacent.

Right?

Going backwards doesn’t seem like a great choice either. You gotta blow up the current job with truth.

Their protection of these two incompetent people is going to cost them many good employees.

Oh I should clarify. Not going backwards, per se. My old company/job doesn't exist anymore. These folks got out a few years before it turned into a smoldering pile of rubble.

So - new company, just working for people I used to work for. Also, I believe the job would be a step-up from my current level.

Anyone ever have DISC training at work? Our team is participating next month, and on the surface it looks like it'll just be 6 hours of time that we'll never get back.

Everyone at my place of work goes through the DISC evaluation and we all have our profiles posted at our desks. We did a training, and by and large... yes. It's a waste of time for anyone that has any sense of normalcy when interacting with people. If you have the ability to read a person and know the best way to approach them with issues, you'll find it completely pointless. You may get a few useful tips and tricks to dealing with people that are vastly different from your temperament, but that's about it.

This is the basis for our opinion as a whole. We're all IT guys, but all pretty normal.

How are you not aware that transgenderism is a thing now?

Part our our annual eLearning was active shooter training. It's still pretty sad [not the training, but the reason behind it] that this has to be included.

Hey, I said pretty normal, not totally normal. Not like the guy on one of our other teams who has 100+ cat photos at his desk.

I think the funniest thing about the DISC training is that the people that typically really need those resources aren't going to pay attention anyways, and the people that love it are going to be the people that don't really need it. It's an odd thing. What's your profile, NTP? Based on being in IT, I'm guessing CSdi.

I just completed the questionnaire a few minutes, and haven't received the profile results yet. I wouldn't be surprised it it took until the day of training to find out.

D = Says what's on your mind and is results driven
I = Pretty much how much you like to be the center of attention
S = How normal are you/do you actually care at all about other people's feeling?
C = All about attention to detail and organization.

I'm an SIcd, which is pretty unique in my R&D role. Most others in my group have a C that's through the roof and a reasonably high D.

Found online:
Cs/Sc's are naturally reserved, patient individuals.
Gonna say that I'm probably not a Cs...

Clearly it wasn't, since you obviously don't know about it. You're literally killing them rn.

Instead of doing this on a 60+ degree day that had no wind, our building decided to have a fire drill on a day that was 15 degrees colder.

We had ours a few weeks ago when it was in the low 40s. I don't really understand why anybody over the age of 18 needs fire drills. Just make an announcement that you're testing the fire alarms, this is what they sound like, then turn them off. I know how to leave a building if it's on fire.

Here at the Moorhead building it seems to be there to remind people that they have to evacuate with the stairs, not the elevators. At least that's what people seem most confused about.
