LBL, how did the person get your email address? Was it on a resume, or an online form you filled out, or on something like a LinkedIn profile? Whatever the source, double check that to make sure there was no typo or anything in the email address. She may be calling the right phone number, but is emailing LemonBerryL0bster@5AF.com. (The reverse could be true, too, in that she typo'd the email address.)

I make an account and applied on the company website. I was able to get the automatic do not reply email stating they got the application, will review it, and contact me if they're interested. I would assume the employee would get my email address from the same location but I could double check all the places it is entered.

I dropped some eaves on a conversation that someone left their weed related article(s) in or around the building. How dumb could you be?

So I had a conversation with the lady from the prospective company yesterday about the position. The starting rate would be 11 cents less an hour than I make now, but if I go second or third shift they add $1.50 per. 401k matches up to 6% dollar for dollar, all other benefits start right away. Strongly considering one of the 2nd or 3rd shifts as I am a gnat's eyelash away from finishing my bachelor's. In person interview is the 11th.

6% match is pretty good. That’s something my company has whittled away in recent years. Or at least when companies I have worked for have been taken over, the new company has offered less.So I had a conversation with the lady from the prospective company yesterday about the position. Now I am at 100% match for 3% and 50% for the next 2%.
Currently putting 8% away.

Second shift would be terrible IMO but I'd go back to working third shift if it was Sunday thru Thursday.

@RonnieFranchise That is what my current employer provides. It's nice but 100% for up to 6% sounds pretty nice since I'll be 30 later this month and only started my 401k last year... :/
@mac5155 Why would 2nd shift be terrible? I don't have any information about it so I have no idea why. I'm single, with no kids and just have a cat so the time I work is irrelevant.

Second shift going into the Stanley Cup Playoffs...? Holy ****, I'd rather have my wrench nailed to a cross...

I just feel like you can't have a 'normal' life on second shift. You're at work while everyone else is doing something. At least midnight shift you work while people sleep and you sleep while people work.

My Dad has worked second shift for the last 20 years or so. But, my Mom is a foster parent so she's home all day. They get all their errands done together during the day and then he leaves for work around 2pm. I don't get it but it works great for them.

I've been called to an emergency meeting in DC that starts tomorrow. Found out about it when my boss called late last night. I don't mind, breaks up the routine. But I have no idea for how long so and I'd like to book a hotel...

Working as a Talent Acquisition Manager now, I get a TON of rando messages from staffing vendors. It's the worst.
I get this one today:

Motherf**ker, how stupid do you think I am?Good morning. We spoke briefly last week. I apologize, our system had some trouble and my notes from our conversation did not save. Are you currently hiring? My job is to connect candidates and employers more quickly and accurately. Saving you time and money. Any job postings I do for you right now would be complimentary.

For months, a coworker and I have been pushing management to send us to a conference in May. It appears as though we may actually get the green light next week. However, it was brought to our attention that our Senior Director - who is incompetent, generally just an dadhole in every sense of the word, and one of the worst micro-managers I’ve ever come across - also wants to go. I’m not sure why, as he’s not technical and likely wouldn’t really understand most of the sessions. I’m now on the fence about even going.

My old boss used to always want to tag along on travel too. But he was fun and always bought the first round so I didn't mind.

I'd have no problem if my boss wanted to come along, as we'd have a good time. This guy? He can walk in front of a bus as far as I'm concerned. My old boss used to always want to tag along on travel too. But he was fun and always bought the first round so I didn't mind.
