Names are trickling out. Seems as if they almost were drawn out of a hat. I'm sure management, O&D cuts are just the tip of the iceberg

That seems to be the way with ours as well...no real rhyme or reason on who goes.

Thirding the "drawn out of a hat" thing, even at my ~80 employee company...

Probably cause it's all cost to the employer related, not performance based. We don't get to see that individual expense on the spreadsheet for each employee.

So far I think us peons are spared. After all they need someone to do the actual work. Not that these folks don't work, but yeah

Related, I guess:
FedEx (FDX) was rising 2.5% after the company said it would reduce its officer and director team by more than 10%.

As soon as i got the email I checked the stock price, it went up about 5-10 mins later. Luckily I had just taken my insider trading training on Friday, last week

That's refreshing to hear cuts being made in upper management.

What are your general thoughts? Some of my former co-workers and a handful of people on my wife's team think it'll eventually trickle down to the lower levels of groups with manager upheaval.

100%. Company mission statement:
FedEx Corporation will produce superior financial returns for its shareowners by providing high value-added logistics, transportation and related business services through focused operating companies. Customer requirements will be met in the highest quality manner appropriate to each market segment served. FedEx will strive to develop mutually rewarding relationships with its team members, partners and suppliers. Safety will be the first consideration in all operations. Corporate activities will be conducted to the highest ethical and professional standards.
Returns for shareholders being the first thing listed is pretty ominous.

I believe they did. I have a few friends in management there and they said while people still ship a lot more in the past, it has slowed down since people have gone out and about.

Yes, we had a huge spike in volume around 2020, and we hired for projected growth given that spike. Then it leveled off, and even pulled back a bit. There are a lot of factors at play here. But above all, a year or so ago they allowed an activist investor on the board of directors and tied executive compensation to share price. You can't convince me that's not the reason a lot of this is happening.

https://triblive.com/local/westmoreland ... ing-hours/

Not sure if anyone on here is in the pharmacy game, but a good article on shortages in pharmacy, how a typical day works, and the differences between a day being a hospital pharmacist and a retail pharmacist. They definitely wear many hats.

Brought this up because recently my Giant Eagle pharmacy changes hours, making them shorter (not significantly), and then I saw this on the trib site.
