Thanks. I'm still nervous and scared if I'm doing the right thing, and will I suck at this new job, etc. I swear I need a life coach.
Congratulations!!!!! Best of luck with your new opportunity.

Several people ordered take out today. One or more ordered what I assume was supposed to be a fish sandwich. What it smelled like was a piece of rotten fish stuffed inside another piece of rotting fish.

I can say with 1000% certainty that Stan would never be employed at my new joint.

OH! Speaking of Stan, dingus doesn't realize that if you call the state of Alaska at 8:30am EST, that no one will be picking up the phone. Everyone just let him keep trying for 4 hours....

(I do swear like a sailor, but any kind of lingo like that is very much frowned upon here. In fact, my boss once told me arbitrarily he hates the F word, and I should never use it, like in life - ever.)
Well f**k that guy.

Yowza, congrats. Now use some of that money to fix the clock.

Don't forget, that was all Kicksave. And Morkle is the only one with the technical expertise to fix the board.
Kicksave needs to turn the keys over.
He’s the only one with access to do that?

Thanks guys.

It was....awkward. And clearly, like I suspected, he did not see it coming. There was a lot of wide eyes, head shaking, and silence followed by "Man...." periodically. I was shocked that he sort of counter offered, which I have been told does not happen here.

I was asked to at some point "put a list together" of things they could do better and things they did well to use for my future successor....

As for Stan, yes I'll keep tabs on him as I know I'll keep in touch with a few folks here. That's the shitty part - leaving some people I really like. When I told one of the women here today, she actually started to tear up. She's an older (than me) woman - It was cute, she told me "I always tell my husband - 'I love her, she swears!' " (I do swear like a sailor, but any kind of lingo like that is very much frowned upon here. In fact, my boss once told me arbitrarily he hates the F word, and I should never use it, like in life - ever.)

On a Stan sidenote, he's apparently in line to get sh*tcanned, finally. I was out this week from Mon - Thurs, was afraid I was going to miss it. But now apparently there is feet-dragging. It's absurd.
Congrats! :fist:

As for the swearing, our team was asked to calm it down a bit, though I’m solely responsible for 75% of it. I did go through the entire day yesterday without uttering a single curse, so baby steps, right?

He was going to hand it all over to me, there were plans to just update everything and redo it all. In terms of redeveloping the board and all of that.

I *think* I still have the login, it could be done, but who wants to do double work when I could just do it all at once.

what if stan or stanette asks for a reference?
Negative. Not that it would happen. But I'm very selective about reference giving. That's my damn reputation. Someone put me as a reference once without my knowledge. I let the HR person know and that I was ending the conversation. Hopefully that spoke volumes.

Thanks!

I mean, I'm not shouting swear words at random at my desk or using them in meetings (though I did at my old place :D ) I've just always been that way - those words come out of my mouth so that they don't come out of my fists, you know? And this guy is telling me never to say that word in life? You've never had a time in your life where that was literally the most appropriate thing to say?

Had my interview for the position I was recommended to apply two. Only 2 other people applied to it, and I was the first interview.

Now, the waiting game begins.

New job called last night and asked me to move my start date up by a week. I already gave notice to my current job about the original start date. It’s it completely unprofessional to change plans on the job I’m leaving?
