Come on. It’s not all crap. We’ve been on some good runs. Get off your stool and let us squirt a few more

We migrated the DB for our largest app at work from Unix to Linux on Sunday. Everything went well, and calls were minimal. Our incompetent Canaan of a CTO cancelled all work from home for the rest of the week for the engineering teams, even though 95% of us have absolutely nothing to do with the change (nor do we work in operations).

Video conferencing has been a real game changer. You get to stare up people’s noses without them knowing until they eventually shut their camera off.

This is why any time work swaps out my PC the first thing I do is put a sticky note over the webcam on it haha.Video conferencing has been a real game changer. You get to stare up people’s noses without them knowing until they eventually shut their camera off.

yeah.. I'm not in the cameras are spying on us camp but I've done enough webinars and seen people flip their camera on by mistake that I always have mine covered. New laptop actually has a switch that slides over it, it's nice.

Had a co-worker storm into my cube today and be incredibly aggressive and confrontational over a decision I made that he apparently disagreed with. I was trying to calmly answer his "questions" (in quotes because they were just criticisms and accusations thinly veiled as questions), but with each answer he was getting more heated, scooting the chair closer to me and eventually ended up invading my space a bit too much. Finally, I told him he needed to back off and not to come at me like that. I believe I said the words "what the hell is wrong with you?" but my adrenaline was going at that point so I can't be sure. I do know that I said something like "I'm always willing to help, but you need to check how you're talking to me." He backed off and apologized pretty quickly but I'm left feeling pretty shitty about it. This dude already has 2 formal complaints against him, our boss has already asked each of us privately what we thought of him and if he should still be on the team. And then he comes in and tries to bully me like he's tough.
It was squashed by the time he left my cube. Should I let the boss know? I don't really need him to do or say anything, it'd just be more of a "hey this happened..."

Yeah I'd let your boss know because from what information you have provided sounds like he'll be doing the same.

I wanted to cool down before doing anything. Didnt want to go in there all hyped up and say something I’d regret.

Smart move, and I agree with the above. A pattern has already been established.

I talked with the boss and he wants to address it with the co-worker since it is a pattern and apparently he just had to say something to him about a similar thing on Tuesday. Should make it nice and awkward considering he's my cube-mate and we work together frequently but at least he'll know that won't fly. I do feel like a snitch, though...

This all could have been averted if you used the new cover sheets on your TPS report.
