Which books?
I think Our Iceberg Is Melting, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and one more that I don't recall and I Shift-Deleted it already, so I can't get it back...

I mean, sure, they are vaguely business- or employment-related or whatever...reading popular books does not belong on a resume in my opinion...unless the point was that she was literate, in which case, that moves her up to the second quartile of resumes that I've reviewed so far at least. But starting your e-mail:

"To whom it may concern!" also loses some points on the literacy scale...you open a letter with an exclamation point? Get bent.

What about personal achievements? Like beating Super Mario Bros on NES in under 10 minutes.

Hmm that's a valid point. No whistles in 3, either.

You see, sir, I feel as if utilizing the warp zones shows my ability to minimize effort and resources while maximizing output and productivity. Being able to properly leverage all the tools at my disposal is one of my greatest strengths.

Nothing like being courted by 2 different companies at the same time. Today I got an offer 25% above the original if I agreed to not have my final interview with the rival company on Monday and join them instead. I took it (I had already been negotiating for 2 days).

I recommended someone apply to my company because I think they would fit in great with our small team. He sends in his resume without a cover letter and spelled my bosses name wrong :face:

This folks is how you mess up a good networking opportunity.

No, we're not buying you an iMac, just because you're "more comfortable" with it than Windows. :pop:

Similar to this, I gave a great recommendation to my boss about a former coworker. This person went through the extensive interview process and upon being given an offer, took that back to their current employer to justify a raise request. Never spoke with the idiot again.

Honestly this was one of the major reasons I was so eager to get out of the agency life. My entire job consisted of proving data, which required deck upon deck upon deck needing created. Then they only pick and chose what they wanted to read. I feel for you, guy.

I was more annoyed she couldn't figure out "right click - delete" unwanted slides and "Save as"

I'd have a nice chuckle before deleting that one.

Or hire him to run the Pens social media accounts.
