Checked my work email for the first time in 11 days, and all I got was a Xmas ecard. 8-)

Same. Well 11 for me. I haven't take a break like this since school and the dread of actually doing something productive is still the same.

I theory I was on vacation starting December 21st. In practice I ended up billing time (not by choice) for at least an hour or two every day my firm was actually open, so I suppose it is more accurate to say that I ended up working from home.

I was in the office the 26th and 27th but didn't do anything...I think I let people go early, including myself on the 21st...so, back in action today...

On the plus side, we get to ease back into it with a three day week...

Frankly, my body could use a few work days, I think it is pretty upset with what I have done to it over the past couple weeks...

I honestly don't understand how that time goes so fast. It felt like I blinked, but it didn't help that I had a nasty sinus sickness starting the day after Christmas.

This is undoubtedly the worst day of the year. Holidays are over, everyone is back to work, commute sucks again, and work is predictably blowing up already. January is going to be an extremely busy month.

I've been off since December 18th. Usually, a day or two after Christmas, I get the itch to get back to work. Not this year. I could've used another week.

My first email of the day was from my supervisor alerting me that a former students' parents may contact me, and by our president's request, we are to ignore those requests. That's...weird, to say the least. I guess a lawsuit is brewing about something.

I'm okay with being back at work. I was bored out of my mind over this past weekend.

I was more worried about my daughter, who has been out of school since 12/21. Thankfully, she was very excited to go back to school and see her friends.

I like being busy, but I am talking about stuff that involves travel. Like I have to go to New York twice this month for work. I'm not looking forward to that.

It's not as bad as it could've been.

But it's not even lunchtime yet.
