mrs meow got one this morning as well. Her school has been bleeding teachers the last two years. I imagine you are correct that the early letter of intents are to try and beat neighboring districts on hiring for next year.

Not sure if this is the right place, can't think of anywhere else, but Ed's Steak House is offically closed for business after 67 years.

Having a wife from that area, it's a big deal up there. She used to work there back in the day.

Am I the only one with today off? It’s technically a day off for New Years

The federal holiday fell forward so you're probably in the minority on that one, yeah.

Friday was our new years day "holiday" so we are back today. In any event... lots of people are still out, and I'm just playing catch up on emails so I'm not doing much.

We get NYE and NY off. A couple years ago our company realized they sucked and threw in a few more holidays to make up for it. We’re up to 12 now, with unlimited (permissive) vacation

I just looked at our 2022 holiday calendar. 14 paid company holidays (Juneteenth is new this year). I guess 10 that are set in stone, plus 4 floaters.

We get 9 a year. With the way things fall this year, they scheduled 6 of them and the rest are floating.

I have it too, but I have a bunch of month end stuff due by noon on the 5th so I'm going to do it today to give myself a buffer.

My next project doesn't start till next week at the earliest. I'll have to burn some PTO, but I am just going to hang around and do nothing this week. Probably go play some golf tomorrow and wednesday.

This is the first year MLK has been an observed holiday at my company, presumably because both Christmas Eve and Day are on the weekend resulting in only the 26th as a holiday where we'd normally have the 24th and 25th.

Around 10:30 my boss messaged me asking why I was active on Teams. Turns out today was a holiday. I was on vacation last week so I missed the reminders and the org Holiday calendar hasn't been updated yet in Outlook.

Neat.

Yea today's holiday for us too. Not ready to start tomorrow, but at least it's Tuesday, I guess.

The last few days were perfect for golf, but it's downright cold and breezy now. Not a chance.

Anything above 40 is good with me, but walking is much better, riding around in the cart makes it worse. Today is too cold for sure, i am going off of the forecast.

I was just informed that my team is back to being listed as 100% remote in Workday, so my paychecks are about to get bigger thanks to Philly taxes no longer being taken out.
