Military works that way too. Often one of the most decorated members of a unit is the clerk that sits outside of the CO's office, not the grunt scraping the bottom of the diesel barrels in the Motor T lot. When I was in Iraq our admin guy was given a Navy Achievement Medal for reliably picking up the units mail from the airport.

Thanks guyz, today is a damned good day. President swung by again letting me know he was putting it through for January, and it's in the five figure range (barely ). I am floating right now.

Don't forget, that was all Kicksave. And Morkle is the only one with the technical expertise to fix the board.

Are you equating our shad to a clerk?Military works that way too. Received my DISC report today. I’m a D... and it was hard not to laugh every time the trainer said something like “you know that person’s a D” or similar. The day wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be, but probably only because we breezed through most of it while cracking jokes the entire time.

The company we used has birds as their figureheads for each segment. So, a D is an Eagle. Being an Eagle, I promptly informed her that I would now be referred to as a Penguin.

Well, I gave my notice this morning. As I suspected, they were blindsided.
Holy awkward though. I’ve never done it before. Glad it’s over.

Bonus plans are great, one of the few things that's keeping me from actively looking is the 22.5% target we almost always meet even in gloom and doom years. Christmas in March isn't too far away!
That and the aforementioned massive severances they are offering people to leave.... why would I leave for free?

Thanks guys.
It was....awkward. And clearly, like I suspected, he did not see it coming. There was a lot of wide eyes, head shaking, and silence followed by "Man...." periodically. I was shocked that he sort of counter offered, which I have been told does not happen here.
I was asked to at some point "put a list together" of things they could do better and things they did well to use for my future successor....
As for Stan, yes I'll keep tabs on him as I know I'll keep in touch with a few folks here. That's the shitty part - leaving some people I really like. When I told one of the women here today, she actually started to tear up. She's an older (than me) woman - It was cute, she told me "I always tell my husband - 'I love her, she swears!' " (I do swear like a sailor, but any kind of lingo like that is very much frowned upon here. In fact, my boss once told me arbitrarily he hates the F word, and I should never use it, like in life - ever.)
On a Stan sidenote, he's apparently in line to get sh*tcanned, finally. I was out this week from Mon - Thurs, was afraid I was going to miss it. But now apparently there is feet-dragging. It's absurd.

Thanks. I'm still nervous and scared if I'm doing the right thing, and will I suck at this new job, etc. I swear I need a life coach.

Maybe after Stan gets fired, he'll get a job at your new place.
