Glassdoor is wildly inaccurate. A minus of 30% to a plus 10% should get you a good range.

My experience is going to a competitor or something directly related that 20% is a pretty reasonable starting point. Every year you spend at the same company is a year you have spent de-valuing yourself in the market. It is much cheaper to keep an employee than recruit a new one.

I wouldn't leave for less than 10%. Unless there are crazy good benefits otherwise.

Don't underestimate vacation time and work/life balance. I'd take a pay cut if it meant working from home full time.

That's what I mean. I have a great W/L balance at the moment. But work from home would be game changer.

Best raises I ever received were when I changed companies. Ted hit the nail on the head.

Asking "is anyone else on the call" when there are 50+ participants should be a fire-able offense.

Also, having the entry/exit beeps as well.

The whole call sounds like walmart checkouts on black friday.

what's even more infuriating is there are, maybe 8 of us here. We had to go offsite because there were no rooms available. So we're probably paying a thousand dollars to rent this space for the day.

"Can you guys see my screen?"
One of the guys in my group was on a phone call... a one on one phone call and I over heard him explain numerous times

"I'm on the phone... no. I can't see your screen."
...
"I understand you're sharing your screen, but I'm on my desk phone. I cannot see your screen through the telephone."
...
"No, I can't see your screen. I'm on a phone."

I wish we'd pay up for WebEx. It's the best system out there, IMO. But no, we've got Skype for Business, MS Teams, and **** BlueJeans. No standard whatsoever, and they all blow.

We used Lync for years with barely any issues... Skype has been a complete **** show, especially for sharing screens... When it does actually work, the viewing options are complete ****.

Lync was tops for screen share, everything, imo. Then it became owned by Skype, then Skype and it was just trash the moment it was sold.

WebEx is garbage. We went all in on it and it's trash, especially their wireless mirroring & touchscreen set up. We also use Teams and while it's not perfect, it definitely is more reliable than WebEx.
