Your IS team can quickly determine whether or not that is true by looking at the Exchange side of things. But it sounds like she's lying if this has happened in the past. I just wouldn't go off of something like a lowercase letter in the subject line.

Someone should be able to access the original sent email (if it really was sent) off the server, right? It should be in her sent folder, correct? With the date and time it was "sent"? Can she not send you a screenshot of that? I call BS.I am 99% sure one of our employee's forged an email to make it look like she sent something she was supposed to send, and it just "didn't make it" for some reason.
I am investigating the "email" she forwarded as proof. If you look at where it says "FW:", I noticed that the "w" is lower-case. I have replicated forwarding emails to both my work and home accounts, and the "FW" is ALWAYS capitalized. We have also had previous communication issues with this person, including her saying she sent an email but the person saying they never got it.
I'm not off-base here, right?

No, you are not off-base. Using outlook? I know with Eudora I could easily look at the email headers but not sure how to do that in outlook. That would show when it was actually forwarded. @NTP66 might know.I am 99% sure one of our employee's forged an email to make it look like she sent something she was supposed to send, and it just "didn't make it" for some reason.

You'd need to check the headers of the e-mail sent in order to validate things, but that still requires the e-mail being received. An Exchange admin can either check logs (if that level of logging is even enabled), or check that person's sent items directly to see if it was indeed sent.

It's also worth noting that with Outlook and webmail, Outlook uses RE: and FW:, while O365 webmail uses Re: and Fw:.

Thanks all. I reached out to my boss (HR Director) and she agreed it needed to be brought to the management team's attention to at least look into it. It's one of our most important vendors so obviously not good if they think our people are forging emails.
NTP, good call on Webmail. The email was sent at 1:30 on a Tuesday, so she definitely would have been using either Outlook, whether it was on her PC or phone. In both cases, it should have been "FW"

I don't do PI work or have much contact with that aspect of litigation, but I have heard that Shenderovich, Shenderovich & Fishman is killing it with their 25% thing. I've also heard that the twins don't do much of their own work any more, but Fishman still does.Side note: whenever I see Shyster or dodint post legal stuff, I picture their heads on the twins bodies in one of their terrific commercials or ads.

Well interviewed with HR. Talk about stress, but was told I should get consideration for panel interviews. I was told that my current compensation is high enough that I should be a manager already and am just considered an individual contributor.
Which rings true for "managing" people all of these years with nothing to show for it. Thanks Boss.

Ooof.
Nice to be validated, I guess.

Yea, was kind of miffed about that - not that I was already considered a manager by people I worked with, that it wasn't recorded as such.
Literally would have avoided the situation if they just made me a manager, but it wasn't in the cards, sooo, ok then.

I joined LinkedIn today. Possibly the last person to do so, it seems.

My man. Wait til you hear the story of the person that showed up late to their interview soaking wet because they got a flat tire in the rain or the one where they didn't ask about the three year ago in employment because sometimes people just need time to grow and be themselves

I joined because a few people I know use it to post jobs, and a new position just opened up that I may throw my hat into the ring for.

All of the bullsht influencer posts on LinkedIn from BOSS BABES, etc have largely made the feed intolerable. That said, I got my current job and last job by being head hunted through LinkedIn so it has a special place in my heart.

It’s like any social media. You have to go through your connections list periodically and clean out the riff raff

It didn't used to be but it's gotten bad. Politics, arguing, feel good (possibly even real) anecdotes, people showing off.
That said once you sift through all that BS there's still a useful tool under there. I'm trying to learn how the algorithms work to get better visibility on some of my activity like job postings.
