got an email from a prominent cellular provider in our region. they would like to put an antenna on top of our building. i asked if they could show me a picture, describe what it would look like, impact to community, permitting with township, etc. they said i could google it and figure it out. wtf. i told them that they can approach me with a full proposal encompassing all of those details when they are ready. aint nobody got time for that. and they sent me a snarky email back. kids these days

and i do realize that it probably took me more time to type that up than to google an image of it; however, it is amazing to me that our vendors (not just this one) treat us like we are an inconvenience for them

Re: all-hands meetings. That’s generally a “somebody high up doesn’t work here anymore” meeting nowadays for us.
Re: the vendor... . They wouldn’t even get a second reply if they told us to just Google it.

Weird. We are moving back to getting paid twice a month, after the monthly check for the last four years ago.
When we moved to monthly, it was to save time and effort for our HR payroll people...Two or three months later, they subcontracted out all payroll to ADP.
So now we're back again...

honestly i deleted it because like i said im not wasting my time to do their work but something about local ordinances change and they cant project eactly what it would look like but it would be anywhere from 2 to 12 antennas and a 200sf platformthis is fairly outrageousgot an email from a prominent cellular provider in our region. they would like to put an antenna on top of our building. i asked if they could show me a picture, describe what it would look like, impact to community, permitting with township, etc. they said i could google it and figure it out. wtf. i told them that they can approach me with a full proposal encompassing all of those details when they are ready. aint nobody got time for that. and they sent me a snarky email back. kids these days

Got a postcard in the mail from my employer providing me some details about our pension plan replacement. Long story short, our pension plan ended in January, I rolled the money into my 403b in Septemberish, but the first matching deposit (which is an annual thing) won’t happen until summer 2020. Seems like an excessive gap.

Working in talent acquisition, as you can imagine I spend a lot of time on Indeed. We do a lot of sponsored ads; over the last week, I have gotten four spam applications from four different sales reps from an alternative job board. They actually take the time to answer my qualifying questions "Yes" so they don't get rejected, and then just copy/paste their annoying marketing message. It's annoying for two reasons; it makes me think there is a real applicant for some of our harder to fill positions, and it eats into our sponsored ad budget. I know sales is a tough gig, but how can yo honestly think this tactic will do anything but aggravate people working in corporate settings?
I have been on a warpath against these people, via phone, email, and trying to get them banned off of Indeed.

Boss just came in and asked me to create a presentation regarding 2019 work data by Friday. The presentation I made for 2018 took me several weeks to make.
Kindly **** off.

Thank you, Trump, for giving my a rare mid-week Christmas Eve day off. I totally don't care about the impeachment thing, now. Cheers!

HR rolled up to my office today with a laundry list of stuff that my temp is doing. None of it is good.

none of it is obscenely bad, just common things that you wouldn't do if you were trying to get hired.
Leaving very noticeably early when I was out of office, long lunches, and parking in the exec parking after several warnings are some good starters. Apparently there are a few more things that "will be discussed later."
Considering our office is very casual, you would really have to stick out to get caught doing something like this.

Yeah, easy cord cut there...but I'd like to know the explicit details of the late show stuff...sounds scandalous...

As someone who cuts out earlier than usual if the boss is out, how early is "noticeably" early?

Our new Senior Director accepted responsibility for our Enterprise Printing solution, which means my team now owns it. This will be the fourth enterprise-wide project in a row that we own that we have zero business owning. And I’m probably going to get stuck with it since I’m the most senior in the group.
