I'd go jacket no tie

Or that. Tie and no jacket is weak imo

Sorry this is a video interview - does that still apply?

Yeah jacket and tie. And since it’s video, no pants.

Good luck, @Morkle. I know the burnout feeling you describe. That's no way to be.

If you look at somebody's calendar and see that they are blocked off for 7.5 hours that day, don't be that dadhole who schedules a 30 minute call for that last opening.
Job and General Employment Thread
I like to be considerate in that situation and schedule the call for 25 minutes.

For real, though, I love the people who schedule 25 and 55 minute calls. With so many meetings lining up back to back, that extra few minutes to hit up the bathroom is appreciated.

Yeah, my meetings are all -5 minutes like that. Helps eliminate the 'I gotta drop for another call' stuff that takes up the last few minutes anyway.

the 25/55 minute meetings are a little silly because everyone and their mother knows that if we still need to figure something out at the 55 minute that we’re definitely not hard-stopping at that point

Side note, I hate it when somebody in a meeting says the have a "hard stop" at the time the meeting ends.
Job and General Employment Thread
I have a hard stop .
Job and General Employment Thread
I have a few people at are notorious for scheduling 25 minute meetings that always last 45 minutes. That's when I throw in the hard stop bit.
Job and General Employment Thread
It should be understood that everybody has a "hard stop" at the time the meeting is scheduled to end.

lol we don't work for the same company. This place is continually disrespectful of time.
Job and General Employment Thread
I'll usually give about a 5 minute leeway and yeah, most people at my company are fairly good at not keeping you over the allotted time. That said, I've left plenty of meetings after 5 minutes over time. Often I don't have another one I need to get to. Honestly hasn't been a problem since Covid and nearly every meeting is virtual.

ehh, respecting times is important but also not all meetings all created equal. A lot of meetings can and should stop at the time but I think it’s reasonable for some to go over if the content is high gravity. That said, the organizer should be cognizant of the time and ask everyone if they’re ok continuing to figure the last pieces out
Job and General Employment Thread
If the content is so "high gravity," the meeting should've been scheduled better. Maybe that's something that should be taken offline so we're given time to download this info and synergize with other BUs to leverage a more agile approach before we circle back on this topic.

I mean, sometimes things pop up that you weren't previously expecting
being overly rigid with your schedule can be as annoying as being overly lax with others'

The main takeway is it would be nice to not have so many frickin meetings back to back so that if something happens to run over or whatever it's not that big of a deal.
