Damn. Guilty.

Wait, I use it ironically, so I'm good.

I've always been partial to mafia related television and film, even the less than spectacular offerings. HBO films' gotti being one of my guilty pleasures, even though Armand Assante wasn't a particularly good actor. Its incredible how many people from that film HBO brought along for the Sopranos. I still say some Tony Sopranoisms in jest "gabbagoul" being one of em.
If you haven't already, I highly recommend checking out Crime Story from 1986. Short-lived at 2 seasons and in the end tried to be Miami Vice with mobsters, but was outstanding for most of it in terms of story, writing and characters.

Excellent performances by Dennis Farina, Ted Levine and even Dice. Well-balanced ensembling that didn't feel obligated to give everyone everything.

Big fan of Farina. Picked this series up on DVD many moons ago on the rec by one of my older brothers. :thumb:
Freakily, I flip on the ol' bewbtewb this morning, TNT network on, ep of Law & Order on, w/ Farina, cop asks him if he's ever worked undercover, Farina says something like "in Chicago, a lifetime ago", clearly a ref to Crime Story.

Today, I feel better.
