I had to get a new floor lamp and so I did and it's not even expensive, just $50, but exactly what I needed and I've been looking around for 2 weeks. Anyway, I think I like lamps. Lamps are cool.

Watching the throngs of Canadians and New Englander snowbirds drive back up 95 on the way out of Florida at the end of the season. Not that I dislike the people, just that I like the room and lack of traffic when they leave.

Holing up in a dark, air conditioned room on the 4th of July and watching the Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy. While everyone else is out being all !SUMMER! I'm anti-summer. I seriously love it.

Also, I agree with with the poster that said being off work when it's pouring. Love it.

I thought my manager was mad at me because I made an executive decision at work without asking the person in charge. My manager asked said person if I had done it myself or if she had told me to do it and the person was like that was all her (Which is fine. She was telling the truth). I was complaining to Kaiser about the fact that she asked.

They also kept me an hour and a half late and poor Kaiser was picking me up and drove around for an hour and a half (I think).

But then I got home and saw a text from my manager asking if I could work more hours next week. Sooo I guess that went well.

I guess the weird thing is that this job is a college debt paying job plus would pay for me to go back to college plus benefits while the place I really want to work at is 2 blocks up.

Although I enjoy working here (knock on wood.)

Also we have a decent view of the sun set from our apartment.

I was telling Kaiser that it looks like the apartment complex is hidden away, surrounded by a magical forest. It's so cozy!!!!

Because most parents work and summer is a logistical nightmare as a result.

haha exactly, is that even a question? I don't envision any plausible scenario where parents would be sad about their kids going back to school. Except maybe their first year in certain grades because it represents them getting older. But the fact the state is taking care of your kid for "free" for 8+ hours? Whatevs.

Our son wasn't in any daycare for the first 3 weeks we lived here. I can't even fathom the nightmare it would have been had I been working at the time.

A freshly paved road. Conversely, a pet peeve is a freshly paved road that is soon tarred and chipped.

Townships who take 4 months to fix their potholes.

2 giant ones on Thompson Run Road. It's been good weather since at least March. They only now just decided to patch them.
