That was some serious BS. A comedian i follow on instagram posted some texts his dad sent, who was/is a prosecutor in Minnesota. He was really focused in on that press conference as some major malpractice. One big take away from this should be that the police should no longer be allowed to call a press conference that in all intents and purposes declares the suspect guilty before the trial. It pollutes the jury pool and is in complete opposition to the right of "innocent until proven guilty".

Probably because he could count on the judge to ignore any defense motions to move the trial.

I personally cringed, when they had to specifically announce that no county police were on the job. Then the two guys that testified earlier were the ones that found the key.

Steven Avery's lawyer says new evidence gives the 'Making a Murderer' convict an 'airtight alibi'

Cellphone-tower records show, according to her, that Halbach, an Auto Trader magazine photographer last seen alive at Avery’s property, did in fact leave the premises, while Avery stayed there.

I watched an interview with Jerry Buting on Reason and, though he didn't outright say it, the impression I got was that he thinks Avery's new lawyer is in over her head and grasping at straws (in general, and specifically with the new cell phone data).

Wow.
As it should have been, but I didn't expect it to happen. Interesting.

Wow, that's amazing and fantastic. I didn't buy for a second that Dassey took part in the murder. I'm sure the state will appeal this, but it's a great first step.

I read somewhere that he will be released in 90 days. Why not 48 hours?
