FanDuel tried to **** me out of their 25:1 promo from UFC 251. They didn’t have the fine print for the promo posted anywhere. It wasn’t in their ads, it wasn’t on their site, and their own support people didn’t know how it worked.
.
Background: if you were a first time member, you received 25:1 odds on all 3 of the title fights for the card. Max bet for the promo was $5. Only parameter was you had to wager $10 or more dollars for the promo to kick in. I sign up and email support because the promo isn’t shown and it isn’t clearly defined anywhere. They get back and tell me it will be calculated after the fights. So, good to go. I put $5 on all 6 fighters to win. Based on the ads and support’s response this should be a no lose $375 coming my way.
.
Fights happen, next day I haven’t been given the 25:1. On with support, told I’d get $375, the promo was having a system error, and to wait 72 hours. I wait. No payment. On with live chat, same story, escalated to one of their “supervisors.” I save chat log. This happens a couple more times to the point I’m now being a squeaky wheel and they’re getting an email in the AM and a live chat in the PM. Finally get a response from the “supervisor” that the promo was only good for my first bet, which happened to be one of the losers of the fight because I went down the line when betting the 6. Supervisor includes some fine print not seen anywhere else. I respond with my documentation and this is their failure, pay up. FanDuel compromises and gives me a payout for one of the 25:1 for $125.
.
10 days to get that sorted, they didn’t even understand their own promo, and I’ll never wager there again. Only plus is I did make a risk free $95.

My condolences to Roy’s loved ones.
Roy’s probably my favorite fighter of all time. Just loved his style. He’s at least been active (last fought in 2018, 23 fights since Tyson last fought, 14 fights since 2010), but Tyson is a large scary man who is somehow back in incredible shape.

I was a Bernard Hopkins fan in that weight class, personally.

This is from earlier this year but apparently Don King is just as silver-tongued as ever.

Former ōzeki Kotoshōgiku Kazuhiro (real name Kazuhiro Kikutsugi) has announced his retirement from sumo. He was the oldest wrestler in the top two divisions. I started watching sumo again in the fall of 2007 during the two tournaments when former Yokozuna Asashōryū was suspended for exaggerating an injury to skip out on one of the local tours. I went back and looked up the ranking sheets from those tournaments, and after Kotoshōgiku's retirement, the only wrestler who was in the top two divisions back then who is still active is Hakuhō. Everyone else has retired. Makes me feel old. It also makes me feel old that Asashōryū's nephew is now in the top division wrestling under the ring name of Hōshōryū.
