Ligue 1 goes the opposite direction of the Eredivise and have called the season complete with standings as is with 10 matches remaining. PSG crowned champions, OL and Amiens the first to file lawsuits due to, respectively, missing out on European football and getting relegated.
IMO, its terrible move (not surprising since its France) to determine Euro spots and promotion/relegation with a quarter of the season abandoned. Better to wipe the slate clean and act like it never happened (says the person who's club is 7 points out from the CL).

Apparently the have multiple players with “no European football” opt out clauses in their contracts, which is their primary concern.

I thought for a while this was probably the most likely outcome. No one gets relegated but there will be promotion and then a quasi double relegation for 2021.

The problem at least in League 1 is that they can't come up with an agreed to plan on how to figure out who the playoff places are.
And yes only reason I know that is because it affects Portsmouth

5 point gap between 8 and 9. No auto promotion, 8 team playoff. Two finalists get promoted and the winner is crowned champ (probably don’t even need to play the final). Consolation game winner gets promoted as well.
Someone is going to feel screwed no matter what. Coventry doesn’t get promoted, they’ll think it’s unfair as they were leading the league. 9 and 10 will feel it’s unfair as they could have gained ground. Oh well. This is the way it is, deal with it.
