Round 5 of 2022/23 Bundesliga season - the first (and I am pretty sure the last) time the small team I root for sits on top of the standings. Go Freiburg! 8-)

I'm optimistic but still have concerns at keeper, striker, and manager. Steffen has looked like ass in the Championship. Horvath has been better but is still limited as a keeper. Turner is barely going to see the pitch before Qatar.

Ferreira is looking like a lock and definitely creates chances every time he's on the NT, but he also has a habit of missing sitters. Hoppe is still a scrub. Dike has basically not played since January. Sargent seems to be coming around, but I'm not sold or willing to trust at this point. Pefok has looked good in the Bundesliga but has been unproductive at the international level. Similar can be said for Haji Wright, but his hot start is occurring in Turkey so who cares. Pepi is a god damn disaster who, despite being Augsburg's record signing, has been banished to FC Groningen.

Manager-wise, I'll just never trust Gregg. His desire to play out of the back despite having an entire nation of CBs with limited ball skills is nutty and he has a never-ending hardon for a collection of MLS players that might be high on effort, but are extremely low on skill. I have no issue with bringing someone like Morris or Arriola to provide a spark or instill chaos late in a match, but I have no doubt in my mind that something stupid will happen and at some point one of their ilk will see minutes over Weah, Aaronson, LDLT, etc. on top of the fact that they're taking a spot away from a more talented player like de la Fuente.

Tuchel and Tedesco both sacked. Nice.

Sad to see Tuchel go. Dude is a **** idiot. As far as RBL, it's amazing how much they've fallen off since Nagelsmann left. Manager was pretty plug and play with them for a while.

EPL, EFL, NL, SPL all cancelling this weekend (and likely next week), while every other sporting event in the UK has decided to continue operating this weekend. Confounding decision making.

It’s halftime at my daughter’s first fall season game, and she wears #8. Even though she plays defense, she is playing exactly how Gattuso did (minus the rough stuff). She attacks any ball that comes near her, and is winning damn near every challenge. It’s great to see.

Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali were unhappy with Tuchel because he refused to employ their proposed 4-4-3 formation.

This will end well for Chelsea.

The entire thing is a joke though. They spent upwards of 150MM during this transfer window, spent 20+MM on buying on Potter and his staff, are paying Potter 14+MM, and are committed to significant investment in the next transfer window to undo TT's purchases and get Potter what he wants. FFP is a farce. I liked Potter and feel bad for Brighton, but k can easily see him being out of a job before next season.
