The Saudis are down 1-0 to Luton Town at half, in the unlikely event that holds, WHU will hold down the 6th spot in the table for Christmas. Double the points they had at this time last year.

My favorite couple days of footy, love the FA Cup 3rd round. Watching National League Maidstone United right now, up 1-0 on Stevenage. Love seeing the little stadiums.

No semi pro vs Premier League competition this year as far as I can tell but League Two Gillingham v yo yo club Sheffield Utd might be something to keep an eye on.

PS the FA Cup score bug is awful. I have my glasses on and still have to go over to the TV to see it.

Now Bowen goes down in the last minute of added time, looks like an ankle. Really freaking costly FA cup tie. They had a couple weeks off, now they have to play Bristol again.

I'm actually fine with it. None of our frontline outside of Son can score with any consistency, so maybe they'll all cancel each other out and everyone will score now. Dudes fast and presses his ass off, so that's something. 6 month loan with a cheap buy option if he actually shows a glimpse of promise. Unless South Korea completely shits the bed, Son is gone to the Asian Cup until at least early February, so we need coverage and I'll take Timo over the previously rumored Jota, who hasn't played since 9/1.

Also, Southampton have now gone 20 unbeaten. Longest run in over 100 years and 2nd longest in club history to a 24 match run from an 1896 Saints team.

Many futbol stars (Henderson*, Benzema, Jota, Firmino) are unhappy in Saudi-Arabia. They are sad and lonely. They want to go back to Europe, but European clubs can't or won't cover their salaries. I feel so sorry for them. Life as a futbol pro multi-millionaire is very hard and lonely and often very unfair. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers the next time they play in front of 800 beards.
