Wayne Rooney coming back to English soccer...

For Derby County in the Championship. I'm guessing he just missed home?

Also... I was checking out the teams in the championship and league one and saw the league one table... two teams (Bury FC and Bolton Wanderers) with -12 points. I figured that had to be a typo or something. Nope. They were both deducted points for infractions:

I had never seen that before.

I remember point deductions being part of the punishments for the Italian football scandal, but dishing them out due to the club having financial issues just seems like a middle finger.

He's becoming a player/manager for them. Saw the success Lampard and Terry were having in that role and wanted in on the gig.

They were talking about it on the Guardian Football podcast (which I highly recommend) along with the situation at Salford City where the Class of 92 has bought them into League Two.

Premier league is right around the corner! Get your Predictions in while you can!!!

Top 3: Liverpool, City, (big gap) Arsenal
Everton Trophy (7th place): Leicester City
Relegation: Brighton, Villa, Sheffield United

Biggest rise in position: Southampton (If they don't end up 5 places higher this season, I'll eat tif's hat)
Biggest fall: Newcastle (I almost put them in relegation)
Top 3: City, Liverpool, United
Everton Trophy: Bournemouth
Relegation: Brighton, Newcastle, Norwich

Biggest Rise: Burnley
Biggest Fall: Arsenal

Promoted: Leeds, Fulham, Derby

I'd love to see Leeds, Wednesday, and Rovers promoted.

But it'll be Leeds, Derby, and one of West Brom, Swansea, or Fulham.

Leeds coming up will be great. I'd love to see Wednesday come back up too. The rest, don't care. Either get some old blood or new blood in there. None of these up/downers.

Well if we're going to add promotions into the mix:
The Top 3 is dependent on if the Spurs decide to continue spending money, which they don't seem inclined to do at this point. dadholes toying with my emotions.

Top 3: Liverpool, City, Spurs
Everton Trophy: Everton
Relegation: Brighton, Burnley, Sheffield United
Rise: I could see it being Southampton but for the sake of differentiation I'm going to say Palace unless they sell Zaha.
Fall: Chelsea

Champions League: Liverpool, City, Spurs, Arsenal
Europa League: Wolves, Man U
Championship Promotions: Leeds, Fulham, Swans
Championship Relegations: Luton, Barnsley, Millwall
League One Promotions: Sunderland, Rotherham, Portsmouth
League One Relegations: Bolton and Bury seem like obvious choices, Wimbledon, Shrewsbury

A facebook memory of mine popped up from 4 years ago, and my brother commented on it then (Liverpool fan), and I said:

"Look out for Leicester City though, they got on a roll at the end of the year last year to avoid relegation and started this season about as best they could hope for."

Should have made a bet then and there.

Maybe this will finally get him booted from the England squad... I swear he was only there because he played for one of the big 6.

That was a bizarre, freaky looking injury to Becker in Liverpool's opener. Not that it matters against Norwich but...

Poor Norwich just outclassed. They'll score a lot of goals, but not against Liverpool.

3 VAR looks in the MC/hammers game. 2 changed the call. Love it. Get the call right, especially on goals.
