Interesting, I thought the difference is most obvious in women's soccer. Then again, the difference is even more obvious when comparing Champions League to beer league level soccer. And imo is has less to do with athleticism than with $$$ and structural conditions and the ability to devote your valuable time to practice etc. But it's late and I had a few, so ...

Anyway, I know that I started to enjoy women's soccer more when I stopped comparing them to the men all the time.

In the space between the scoring areas, if you squint your eyes, you could have a hard time telling the difference between men’s and women’s soccer. Which is a far cry from 20 years ago when it was pretty blech.

I should state, though, that as a father to a daughter, I’m happy to have the WWC around.

Did they show a replay for that uncalled foul outside the box? Could have been a flop?

But bah gawd US - put one away.

Martens looked like she had her bell rung a bit harder than initially thought. She copped a squat right at halftime and looked like she was somewhere else.

TIL in women's soccer you can kick your opponents in the shoulder.

Right call but I've always had a problem with the "any could inside the 18 is a Pk" rule

If Morgan doesn't get fouled there she has a tough time receiving the ball and at the very best ends up has the ball in the corner of the 18. The PK gives them a majorly high chance of conversion when the foul yhat led up to that wasn't a goal stopper necessarily

I get your point, but I'll have to disagree.

I agree. And this sort of business is a big reason why I don’t watch soccer. There are a dozen rule changes that could drastically improve the game, but because of its worldwide status, there’s no reason to try anything.
