Something for WHU fans:
West Ham's Ukrainian striker Andriy Yarmolenko (32) lost the stadium where he played his first Ukrainian league game at the age of 17 to Russian occupiers a week ago. Now he has fallen out with compatriot, and Zenit St Petersburg assistant coach, Anatoliy Tymoshchuk (43) over the war. Unlike many Ukrainians, the former Bayern Munich footballer has not joined the boycott of Russia, and continues to work in St Petersburg.

Russian YouTube blogger and former striker Evgeniy Savin came up with the news, and the teammate of Vladimir Coufal, Tomas Soucek and Alex Kral spoke to him about the conflict with Tymoschuk. "I wrote if he sleeps well at night, and he replied that he doesn't sleep at all," Yarmolenko said in the interview.

Subsequently, Tymoshenko decided to call his longtime friend to sort things out. "I told him that I used to take him as a role model, but now he means nothing to me," Yarmolenko described the escalating conflict. "Then he just told me to go f**k myself, whereupon I sent him there too, and that was the end of it for me."

Tymoschuk? A national disappointment

Tymoschuk has become a huge disappointment for Ukrainians. Until recently, he was considered a national football legend. In 2011, he was named the best footballer in Ukrainian history. Besides, he has the most starts for the Ukrainian national football team in history (144), for which he played from 2000-2016. He reached the peak of his club career in 2009 when he joined Bayern Munich for a handsome sum, more than 268 million crowns. The former defensive midfielder played for the German side for four years, and played a total of 132 games for the thirty-one-time German champions, scoring six goals.

Last month, representatives of the Ukrainian Football Association suggested that Tymoschuk should be stripped of all the trophies (8) he won in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk. They are also demanding that the 2013 Champions League winner be removed from the national team's playing record, his coaching licence revoked and banned for life from football in Ukraine.

I freakin' LOVE DeepL.com for being able to translate (pretty close to the actual original!) gems like ""Then he just told me to go f**k myself, whereupon I sent him there too, and that was the end of it for me." :)

Well they know what they need to do in Germany next week. Wish it had been goal scorer Bowen and not can’t hit the broad side of a barn Bowen today.

I was on my spin bike and missed it, why were fans throwing things on the pitch in the Leeds v MC game?

We're resting up to hopefully win in Germany on Thursday. Ulf and I are starting in midfield today.

Everton beats Chelski. Nice!

Just absolutely floored that not only did the Arse goalie not get called on that play but Bowen got the yellow. Remarkable.
