Egypt is in Group A, Spain is in Group B. There's a (slim) chance they could meet in the knockout stage and Egypt can 'fix the glitch'.

Before yesterday I thought there was actually a decent chance.

Turns out Loris Karius suffered a concussion thanks to Ramos' elbow. Good job, arsehole.

Some notable absentees from their respective WC squads: Leroy Sané, Marcos Alonso, Radja Nainggolan, Alex Sandro, Kingsley Coman, Alvaro Morata, Alexandre Lacazette, Mauro Icardi (!).

Forget Belgium, the real dark horses to watch are Serbia and Morocco.

Now watch them crash and burn in the group stage.

The first match I have a rooting interest in is the Iberian Cup on Friday.

I think we see a bizarre winner this year...

Or Germany blows everyone away.

Based on recent impressions, Germany is not going to blow away anyone.

Yea I don’t understand how Germany is so far ahead of everyone in regards to the oddsmakers. They are very good no doubt, but they may have left home their most explosive forward and France, Brazil, and Belgium are stacked.

And Spain just fired their coach,
I mean, it's not like their first World Cup match is less than 48 hours away or anything. Should be fine.

What I've read is that the United States is the "host" and will get the AQ, but that games will be played in Canada and Mexico.

This will be the first WC with 48 teams, and US venues will host 60 of the 80 matches in the tournament; the final will be Giants Stadium in New Jersey.
