Here's to you tennis ball hanging in the garage. You let me shut my brain off and not accidentally destroy a part of my house. Very satisfying.

Neat, just yesterday I saw that very thing in Fargo and wondered what it's purpose was. :thumb:

hahah, I don't have the tennis ball in the garage, I just kind of park it by feel. It is a brilliant idea though.

Cruise control is an underrated invention.

My wife is starting to park in the garage this year. I'm definitely going to put up a tennis ball for her.

I'll one-up that with back-up cameras. My new car has one and my God I can't believe I went this long without one.

Sadly, I've found myself depending on it.

When I get in car without one, I get a little anxious.

If I have it, you bet I'm going to use it as a crutch.

It actually really helps me though. I've been bad at judging how much space I have behind me when I'm backing into a parallel spot. Used to give myself too much room (as in, I would have plenty of space but think I didn't). No worries with that now.

The transistor. I know people appreciate all the technology that uses them, but I feel like the invention of the transistor itself is often overlooked.

That's the same reaction I had when @columbia said 'indoor plumbing'. Really? That's underrated???

But, if you think about it, half the population doesn't fully appreciate the magnificence of yoga pants. They see them as utilitarian, and their exalted glory is entirely lost on them.

In public, your only risk is curbing out on the sidewalk. At home, you'll end up crushing your water heater.

Mrs Tif actually destroyed about $500 worth of framed posters at our first place. She pulled in and just....... crushed stuff. Didn't realize until after that the strip of used carpet on the left side of the garage was a visual indicator for parking depth.

My mom used to visit her grandparents as a kid and those folks had an outhouse. My contention is that people in the US of A don't truly appreciate what it would be like to live in that kind of situation.
