No, I mean something where the client (if that's the right word) is in either the router or modem (not sure which) so that all traffic goes through the secured pipe.

Had a TechRadar thing promoted on my FB feed recently talking about this stuff, and it piqued my interest. The main reason why I don't use a VPN currently is because I thought you had to have device-level clients. If there's a one-size-fits-all option, I'd like to look into that.

Okay, that's what I described above. For instance, my ASUS router can configure up to 5 different VPN clients, so that any device on my home network will be routed through one of them. I want to say that most VPN services offer OpenVPN clients, which this support. It also supports PPTP, but I wouldn't use that.

In the process of researching this, I have discovered that I have apparently owned a VPN-capable router for 5 years (Archer C7v2). So with that in mind....... any good VPN reccos? lol

I don't use any, but I now @nocera and a few others may/did/do.

I haven't used a VPN in years, but when I did I used unblock-us. I last used them from 2010-2014 and I would highly recommend. I cannot vouch for how they've been in the last 6 years or so, but when I used them, set up was easy, support was insanely fast (and free), and I never had any issues. For the price ($5/month) it was a no-brainer.

Does anyone here have fubo? When hockey comes back I'm debating switching from yttv. I really like yttv but if fubo isn't too shabby a minor step down for attsn is worth it to me.

I expect Pens games to be blacked out on it. For no particular reason other than they have always made it near impossible to watch Pens games in market online legally.

65 bucks a month... I currently pay $107 a month through comcast for internet and pretty much the same channel line up. Internet on its own currently through comcast would be $40 for 200 mbps (if I could convince them to give me that deal).

i am cutting the cord in august when my fios contract is up and its sort of overwhelming to process all of the streaming services that are out there.

I copied their Google Sheet to go through it again, and then looked at all of my TiVo OnePasses to see which channels we record. As expected, not a single service provides them all, so we'd have to invest in two in order to retain what we have now. And it's not just one random channel I can live without, it's channels that we watch a lot of. Hulu with Live TV comes the closest, but I'm not giving up CC, and my daughter wouldn't like the loss of Nick Jr.

I spoke too soon. I looked through the list again and missed a number of channels. Fubo is now the closest, but it'd take Fubo, YTTV, and Hulu to make up everything. Ah well, maybe some day these guys will expand their lineup offering, because right now it pales in comparison to traditional cable.

Nope, no additional cost. I look for Disney+ to do the same thing, specifically with Black Widow.

I have a bunch of emails with 14 day free trials codes from buying stuff on best buy over black friday. Wonder if those will work during that?

It might depend on where you live. (In CA, you can't put an expiration date on a gift card/certificate, but I'm not sure if that applies to redemption codes.)

Issuance of those codes could be considered an inducement to purchase, so I would hope they remain valid. Otherwise that's sort of bait-and-switch territory.
