I like the idea, but it's not cheap enough to get me off of FUBO which has ATTSN. If it was under $20 I'd drop Fubo and get YTTV + this

I'd love for team-specific streaming options for out-of-market sports. But it would have to be offered by the local broadcaster, otherwise you'd hear howls out of the likes of Jax how no one wants to stream their games in Chicago.

I still get Sunday Ticket because of a glitch in their billing Matrix, but I stopped paying for NHL.tv three seasons ago; makes watching Pens' playoff games a bit of an exercise of "who the f**k are all these people???"

Well, as it stands I do not get most Penguins games because I'm not paying $60/mo for Fubo. But I'd be enticed by $30/mo. Maybe even a little more if they don't stream the Pirates.

No chance I'd be paying for Netflix if I didn't share with my family. Maybe they should stop making hundred million dollar garbage with Ryan Reynolds.

The Netflix password thing makes no sense. They offer a package that lets you stream on multiple devices concurrently - why on earth do they think this is all happening in the same household? Furthermore, why do you care? You're already getting a few extra bucks for those extra streams. I will pirate everything if they come down hard on this.

I would've liked The Irishman more if Scorsese cast younger actors instead of doing the de-aging thing. It also would've been cheaper. Maybe if Netflix didn't give Adam Sandler $275 million to make classics such as Sandy Wexler or Murder Mystery they would be in a better position to fund more interesting projects.

Not a fan of the new condensed YTTV live channel guide.

Really had a difficult experience trying to cancel Spectrum internet (yes, it was the only show in town) at our old house.

First, other utilities can do it entirely over their website. Like the power company; couple of clicks and we're good.

Spectrum requires a phone call, of course. They are understaffed, so you are put on hold. Then I tell them we are moving, and they check our new zipcode. "But, sir! We have service in your zip code! We can help you move!" Knowing that they really don't have service in our new subdivision, I let them send a construction survey crew out to determine if they can service our address. A week later, I get a voicemail that the builder won't let them survey the area...so they can't put cable in our neighborhood. Womp womp womp.

Back on the phone to cancel, which after the ridiculous hold time, Spectrum Mobile sales pitch, I finally cancel service after 45 minutes.

The new provider is a local telephone co-op that has ridiculous speeds for much cheaper than Spectrum. 500/500 for $60, no equipment fees. That will go up to $75 in a year, which is still less than what we were paying for 200/10 (lol) from Spectrum ($80). We also have a dedicated customer service rep, based here in Myrtle Beach.

The only downside is they don't allow personal modems and routers. My boss, who has the same company, says they are squirrelly on torrenting, so he recommended getting a VPN.

I have had good results with Mullvad VPN + WireGuard. Crazy fast speeds. Doesn't work on Netflix, FWIW.

So we had a quick power outage this morning. Probably lasted 15 seconds. Have had them plenty of times before. Seems it may have fried out tv in the living room. Talked to the mfg this morning and they think it could be software related so waiting on a software to try and sideload.

I never buy extended service plans but did for this tv for some reason thru best buy. Got the tv in July of 2020, so still within the 2 years by a month or so. Best buy sending out someone next Wednesday to assess. Shall see how that goes.

We have two other tvs in the house so it's not the end of the world but still annoying.

Took about two weeks from geek squad coming out, to ordering the parts, to them coming to put them in but my TV is back up and running. No cost to me...so overall I guess the protection paid for itself for once.

This is very needed. Amazon has the worst UI of any streaming service.

My 7 year-old TV died yesterday (screen goes black after being on for 10 minutes or so). It has had streaks of light coming from the top so I'm not surprised. I'm looking at el cheapo 43" for $220 (the Best Buy house brand and last years model). Prices have really come down.

I find Peacock to be even worse. I have it for free with Comcast and don't watch it given how bad the UI is.

We paid $1,100 for a VIZIO 55" 11 years ago. What would be broadly the equivalent spot in the model lineup today is only around $600.

Actually they have 65" as the new 55", but your point remains.

I have a 47" Vizio that I bought 11 years ago for $800. Still going strong.

I had never run into an emergency alert come over our fire stick. I’m home sick today and have some Netflix going in the background. Boom, emergency alert comes over the show. Bizarre, but understandable.

Well we have one more year to enjoy HBO Max as we currently know it. I don't have a great feeling about Warner Brothers Discovery + of whatever the **** this is going to be called.

I was going to post that same slide yesterday and sarcastically thank them for providing an ad-free option for the ad-free service I already enjoy. Except it's probably not actually ad-free, HBO Max advertises its own shows before everything I watch.

My guess is the pricing doesn't really change. $15/month for ad-free, between $7-10 for ad-lite, and no cost for ad-only - which won't include HBO. If pricing is increased for ad-free I'm out.
