The Samsung would be the better overall set, IMO. I would not go with the LG.

Tried watching the MNF game via ESPN on Chromecast (legally!) and it stuttered and buffered endlessly. Switched to an illicit stream, perfect quality, no hiccups.

Well, we tried.

Anyone try out Plex's free streaming service?
https://www.engadget.com/2019/12/04/ple ... -tv-shows/

Also, for those of you who use Plex to organize your pirated collection, do you have any concern that the partnership with WB and this streaming service will force them to "go legit" and crack down on the piracy aspect of their product?

I am a bit concerned, but more concerned my Plex Pass doesn't let me skip the ads in those streams.

Has anybody seen anything that indicates PlayStation will allow a YouTubeTV app for PS4 once Vue shutters next month?

OK boomer tech question. (Although I'm really a Gen Xer)

I have a newer TV with HDMI that I'd like to play through an older Bose Wave radio/CD tower.

Can I simply connect an HDMI-Component cable from TV to stereo or does it have to run through my DirecTV box?

is there a wireless charging thing that would charge a samsung galaxy watch and an iphone at the same time? It seems like the technologies are not cross platform compatible

I think the technology is not device (or OS) proprietary. I don't own one, but sister and brother-in-law are iPhone users and charged my Pixel 3 on their wireless charger. No idea the brand.

Now unless Samsung is being particular, which could be the case, you should be able to charge it alongside an iPhone.

Correct. iPhones use standard Qi charging. I do not know if there are charging pads that would charge multiple devices, however.

If your receiver has HDMI switching (look for an HDMI-Out port), then you should be able to run the cable from your cable box, game console, etc to the receiver, and use a single HDMI cable from the receiver (HDMI-Out) to the TV.

My Anker wireless charging pad works for iPhones and Samsung devices, and most of the ones I’ve seen also support both. The big difference is whether or not the charger has fast charging capability. I don’t think many do for iPhones, but a lot support Samsung’s fast charging.

OK, so I'll need a component to HDMI cable to run from the old receiver to the cable box? Cable box already runs HDMI to HDMI to TV.

Your cable box doesn’t have HDMI? What does it have for audio and video? Component is video only, so if you’ve got no hdmi port, then your next best option would be to swap the cable box with something from this century. The next best bet would be a component cable and a digital optical audio cable from the cable box to the receiver. I want to say that this should also work for you, even with your other components being hdmi.

My old Bose stereo only has component input/output. I'm trying to play the TV sound through it.

Are you just trying to get one source (cable box) to play through the receiver? If so, leave the box connected directly to the TV. Just run audio from the tv to the receiver, usually through a digital optical or coax cable.

My little over a year Sony Bravia died this weekend. This is potentially the one time, I am glad I bought the warranty.

Any news on ATTSN being added to a streaming service? I got to get out from under DirecTV.

I don't, but have a few friends who do and like the flexibility of the system.

After three years of directv now/att tv now I cancelled the service. At launch it was $35 a month...my latest bill was $65. In the last year they nearly doubled the day one grandfathered price. I’m probably switching to sling blue ($25) which doesn’t include the locals or ESPN. I rescanned my OTA and get all of the major locals through antenna.
Does anyone know if ESPN+ includes MNF?

Interesting..... launching PS Vue serves a roadblock ad on console promoting YouTube TV as an alternative OTT service. It reads "available on all your favorite devices", but there's still no app for PS4. I'm waiting to start my trial until I know if I can continue using my consoles out if I need to get a new Fire stick.

Funny, when I launch it on Firestick there is an announcement but no YoutubeTV ad.

Looking at my account, it seems they want to bill me on 12/24 a full month subscription for less than a full final month. I guess I will be making my switch to YTTV a few weeks early.

Im guessing the deal they negotiated w YT was exclusive for console users, which is what I'm holding out for vis a vis a PS4 YTTV app.

We're Ultra subscribers, so we get HBO and Showtime through Vue. We are also getting served with HBO Now roadblocks.
