HBOMax pretty much does this by making you constantly authenticate with your phone.
Where I see this going is having to use two factor login every time you open the app somewhere from a non-consecutive location.

Does anyone here know how to access movie bonus content (making-of featurettes deleted scenes, etc) via streaming apps like Prime and YouTube? I have movies purchased from those retailers in my libraries, but i cannot find a way to access any of the BTS stuff. Which is annoying because that's what I actually buy the movie for.

Anyone have any experience with soundproofing , acoustic proofing, bass traps, whatever you want to call it etc?

Soundproofing you say? Here you go:
I was involved in soundproofing my company's video studio but that was back in 2014 and I absolutely haven't kept up with the tech. Feel free to throw out any questions but you might get 2014 answers.

I don't know much about it, but lately the family has been complaining because of how loud it is upstairs when I watch movies. I keep telling them if it's too loud, you are too old and that doesn't seem to be helping. I don't know if lining the basement ceiling would even do anything, but I figure I might be able to get some movement on putting atmos speakers in above if I also say hey, look soundproofing. Would that do anything in helping the noise go upstairs?

Do you have drywall or a drop ceiling? If drop, you're 100% going to have to put some sort of soundproofing in the ceiling. Throwing up something on the walls would help the surrounding rooms (and deaden the sound in the room) but probably won't do much for the rising sound. There are products that sit on top of the ceiling tile or you could buy specific tiles that are more dense and sound absorbing.

They make a sound deadening drywall, but it's expensive and you're basically having to double up your drywall - so new taping, trim, paint, etc.

You know, I was going to say too bad they don't make a sound deadening blown in insulation, because that should be an easier option... but they do:

It's a finished ceiling, but I have no problems ripping **** up. I was thinking about building a big squared off area with sound dampening inside and covering it with blackout cloth and doing the fiber optic star field with some hue lighting recessed around the base

I would go with soundproofed or damped (I think that's the term) drywall. You could also install a double layer of standard drywall if that's cheaper. Basically you want to add mass. I would also look into soundproofing the floor of the room above it assuming that's where the family is. If that room is hardwood, maybe a carpet or heavy rug.

Buy them noise canceling headphones to wear and call it a day.

I didn't think you had access to that stuff if you buy digitally

You did, and I had accessed the content via those services previously (I forget which service it was, but the bonus content wasn't bookmarked or indexed in anyway, it was just a big 4+ hour video that you had to manually seek through). Ever since I linked my retailer accounts to Movies Anywhere all that stuff went away; I don't know if that's correlation or causation, but you can usually access that content via the MA site, just can't figure why it is no longer is useable on the service where I made the purchase.I didn't think you had access to that stuff if you buy digitally

I was worried about throughput with a VPN, but apparently that was unwarranted thanks to WireGuard:
I can saturate my entire connection, which is the ultimate goal.

Is that for work? Or to get Pens games when they are playing the Devils/Flyers etc.? Or both?

Nice. My soon to be new ISP does not condone sailing the high seas (according to my boss, who is also an avid seaman lol), so I might go that way eventually. Still need a closing date, but at some point we'll be moving lol.

Well, I went with Mullvad VPN, using WireGuard instead of Open VPN, and so far cannot complain. I configured qBittorent to only use the VPN adapter so that it never attempts to download over the normal ethernet interface, and based on what I'm seeing it's all working well. If I receive another notice from my ISP, I'll know that isn't the case, but I'm confident that it is.

One thing to note about Mullvad - it doesn't work with Netflix in case you were going to try and use it for that.
