Netflix got Seinfeld for 5 years. I'll be watching.

“Seinfeld is the television comedy that all television comedy is measured against,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer, said in a statement. “It is as fresh and funny as ever and will be available to the world in 4K for the first time.
Interesting. Guessing it won't be the original 4:3 then.

Seinfeld (like a lot of TV shows then) was shot on 35mm film, using in-frame masking to mark 'safe zones' for broadcast aspect ratios. It has been available in HD for years. And, frankly, the HD releases look kinda goofy, like the shots were composed poorly.

There is no reason to not leave it in 4:3 even if you upscale it or whatever. I mean it was shot in the 90's, it doesn't need to look pretty like shows these days.

Right. I'm assuming it'll just be an upscaled version of what's currently on Hulu. But like you said, it wasn't shot for 16x9 so the composition is odd. At least it's not as bad as Roseanne where they literally just cropped in on the 4:3 version so you're missing a large chunk of the picture.

Would I be a bad person if I said I've only ever seen 1 episode of Seinfeld.

Anyone else have Ring doorbells? @Morkle I think mentioned having one? Are you constantly seeing 'processing video' when reviewing motion alerts? I swear it has gotten really bad the last month or so, with me basically unable to view motion alerts for 2-3 minutes while processing finishes. Live video seems to work fine.

Got a USB wifi adapter for my desktop and officially cut Comcast out of my life last night. Feels good. Fios is a better product and better value.

Now, if only I can get just a single working television, I'll be fully media-ized to my content...

Hmm, I haven't had this issue - I think it may be a power supply/wifi issue though? I remember having to make sure my extender was within feet of it, and install a new power-supply for the doorbell.

Yeah, chatting with Ring now and they're going through the motions. It's definitely not power or wireless for me, but they want me to factory reset the damn thing. Everyone I know has this issue, and it's prevalent on the forums, too. I think their servers are unable to handle the current capacity.

Parks & Rec is the latest Netflix casualty. It will be moving to NBCUniversal's streaming service (which I just learned is called 'Peacock.' Hilarious).

So you're not the first person that has asked me if I've had this issue, I know there are others. It's just strange that I haven't had it yet.

They seem to have just expanded too quickly after Amazon acquired them. There are so many features that they were supposed to roll out in 2019, but I think maybe 10% of them have actually been released. The rest of still on the back burner.

We got a Ring after we moved, and for the first week-10 days I was getting like 45 notifications a day. It was picking up everything from dragonflies to traffic on the street. So I changed it so I now only get a notification when the bell is actually rung.

Which Ring did you get? The Pro has better options for alerts. That said, you basically have to keep the slider at the far left (people only) and designate your alert zones appropriately. Speaking of, that's one feature they need to implement - multiple notification zones. I want alerts on my driveway, but only during certain hours. It's all or nothing right now.

I think I saw a Battlestar Galactica reboot was coming to the Peacock. And Saved by the Bell reboot too...

Can someone recommend a remote that will control an Apple TV and also a universal 'tv' remote in one? Preferably for not more than the actual apple TV costs?
