You can buy the physical media in 4k (I think just the 1st season has been released). I was saying how amazing it looked just streaming it from hbogo and letting the tv up convert it to 4k, but when I would watch it through Comcast, it looked like crap. There is 4K GoT?

Looks like HBO Go isn't 4K, yet at least. I've only watched on DVD or HBO Go so guess I've seen the highest res, other than season 1, so far.

I’ve read good things about the Sony X900F, but it’d be hard for me to switch from Samsung. Speaking of, they’re apparently going to be announcing an 8K set in the very near future that has magnificent upscaling capabilities.

I went from a Samsung to Sony 900E (last year's model of the F). I wish I could have waited for the F to take advantage of Dolby vision, but my old Sammy bit the dust. These Sony 900 series are absolute beasts.I’ve read good things about the Sony X900F, but it’d be hard for me to switch from Samsung. Ha. We have a couple year old Samsung in the living room and an even older Sony XBR in the bedroom. I had been looking at the 900F for after we got settled in a bit with the new living room furniture. Just found out the furniture will be here this week, so I've been scrambling to finish the remodel. As I was working on the ceiling today, I knocked over the living room Samsung and completely fubared it...I went from a Samsung to Sony 900E (last year's model of the F). I had to install an Arris SB6183 at my parents house to support their new 250Mbps Comcast internet service. Speed tests were in the 250-265Mbps range, but upload was struggling to make it past 10Mbps. I flashed the firmware on their router (Asus RT-N66U) a few times, using both ASUS's native firmware, and Merlin's firmware, and nothing made a difference. So, I check Comcast's website. Wouldn't you know, their upload speed for basically all of their internet packages is 10 **** Mbps. That's atrocious, and furthers my stance on never wanting to be on their network ever again.

Get ****, Comcast.

I pay for a gigabit connection, but I've never seen over around 250-260 mbs on Speedtest. I'm sort of okay with that, because I only have two devices that are hardwired to the pipe (my PC, and Mrs Tif's work laptop when she's plugged into her dock), so I see it as sort of future-proofing. The seven or eight other devices we have connect via Wi-Fi.

I'll actually use the bandwidth, but aside from that, I want exactly what I'm paying for. Your solution may be a simple one, honestly, depending on the hardware you're using. Making sure that NAT Acceleration is enabled is step 1, and simply rebooting the router is step 2 (nvram being clogged up or full can severely degrade performance).

Just curious what are yall doing that you need 900 mbps internet speed?

- Online backups that run constantly throughout the day
- Video streaming in basically every room
- Downloading torrents

Are you downloading complete operating systems and backing up terabytes of data? Still seems extremely unnecessary. I stream in 3 rooms with 30 MBPS down.Just curious what are yall doing that you need 900 mbps internet speed?

I’d love to have a gigabit connection when I have a 50GB game to install on my Xbox

I do a lot of what NTP does. I have 5-8 devices in the home, I play online-games, torrent, etc.

I routinely download 4-10GB files, be it movies or other things. Is gigabit overkill? Half of the time, yes. But for an additional $5/month? 100% worth it.Are you downloading complete operating systems and backing up terabytes of data? Still seems extremely unnecessary. I also want to reiterate the importance of the upstream bandwidth, too. Having gigabit downloads is terrific, but I have seen noticeable improvements in my computer at home by simply having that crazy fat pipe going back out to the internet with my CrashPlan online backups. Faster backups = more CPU for the rest of my work. It also comes in handy when I remote into my home devices from outside of the network.

I thought CrashPlan stopped offering a consumer backup product? (At least that's what they told me when I had to revert to Carbonite a couple months ago)
I am not generating enough new data on a daily basis to really care about how the up pipe is only 10 Mbs, but to each their own.

They did, but I switched to CrashPlan Small Business. I hate the new console with a passion, but they're still hard to beat with all of the features they offer.I thought CrashPlan stopped offering a consumer backup product? Holy crap this thing is freaking awesome. Youtube, Netflix, HBO Go and blu-ray (also picked up a Sony UBP-X700) are all incredible. Even Spectrum cable looks pretty damn good.
