We just signed up for new internet service, so we're getting a monthly rebate for the next 12 months. But I'll go with the baseline pricing for this.
Spectrum Ultra (400 down, no idea up) - $65.99
Vue Ultra multi channel w premiums (HBO and Showtime) & Sports Pack - $89.99
Netflix - $12.99
Hulu -$5.99
We will probably add Disney+ at $6.99, just for The Mandalorian
So that's around $180/mo when we were paying around $200/mo just for DirecTV.
Does not include Sunday Ticket, which adds like $40/mo for a few months every year.

Those without cable, what do you use to watch sports?
I want to cut cable because it's getting frustrating but my biggest reason for not is because I hate watching a sports stream that's 3-5 minutes behind live. The max I'd be able to do is about a minute

2019 Vizio prices are out. $3500 for p series quantum x. I'm so confused by how they update their models from year to year, but the p series quantum is $2500I personally don't care about the interface or smart features of any of these sets; I will likely use none of them, just as I have my own Samsung. As for the 75" Vizios, thanks, I signed up for the notifications on their release. If they're sub-$3k, I might be in business. I can get the Sony for $2500 right now, so the Vizio would really have to blow it out of the water for more money.

Yeah, that’s insane. I’ll just keep my price alert for the Sony going and will pull the trigger when it comes down.

It's somewhat inconvenient, but it works.

I got a 900F for the living room last year and love it. Now looking at moving it to the bedroom and getting a bigger Sony X950G for the living room...I’ll just keep my price alert for the Sony going and will pull the trigger when it comes down.

I can grab a ‘like new, never installed’ 900F on Amazon for $2300 right now. The seller even included photos which shows the factory stickers still on everything and all. May need to confirm with the wife before I pull the trigger, even though I’m only really going to use any hint of acceptance to pull the trigger now.I got a 900F for the living room last year and love it. I have an international flight coming up... looking at getting a tablet which will likely be 100% designated to watching netflix/prime/maybe xfinity if I can/youtube etc. Any suggestions? Do I need to go iPad route? Or would something else work just as well? I'm not a huge visual guy, so as long as it's watchable, it's fine. I'd love to have something that I could connect to an external hard drive with videos on it, but I know that's probably a reach.

I still don’t think you can go wrong with a Kindle Fire. The current lineup all has an SD card slot for expandable memory, so that wouldn’t be an issue, and the graphics performance is very good. You’ll just want to validate that all video apps that you intend to use are available for the Fire.

So for external storage, I'd load up SD cards? Seems simple enough. I was thinking an external hard drive, but SD cards are pretty simple. And at the price point, I wouldn't lose too much sleep if something bad happens to the kindle fire during the trip.

Exactly. I bought a 64gb card for my wife’s Fire HD 8, since they’re stupid cheap these days. Problem solved. They may even have the Fires on sale for Memorial Day this weekend.

Second the recommendation for the Fire HD. Mrs K loves hers.

A buddy here has a huge library of DVDs and TV shows. All of them are in ISO format. The Fire HD doesn't support ISO. What's the best way to convert them into something that the Fire can play?

https://t.co/REqHsdfq1mWSJ: The streaming service from AT&T is ditching plans to offer a 3-tiered product and will go instead with a $16 to $17 a month package that includes HBO, Cinemax and Warner Bros. content for barely more than HBO NOW's current price of 14.99

Fios Gigabit internet 99.99/mo. Unfortunately, this is bundled in with my triple play. But I have Gigabit internet, the most basic of the basic cable, and not sure what is going on with my phone. I'm debating on paying out my termination fee on the triple play, but I'm guessing it will be a wash for what the difference between internet-only service is and the triple play cost of 132ish/mo.I'd still be curious to poll 5AF to see how much everyone's paying for internet, TV, etc.
Same here.Yo ho ho, it’s a pirate’s life for me.
Nvidia Shield android box doing all of my streaming. The service that I subscribe to has 400+ USA channels, channels from Canada, England, etc., all PPVs, all sports packages. The person running it allows 4 tvs per subscription. I think they said there's DVR functionality, but I never looked into it. Channels will occasionally drop but it's very rare, and live tv is usually about a minute behind. But for $100 for half a year and I'm the only one in my house, I don't think it's a bad deal.

I suppose here is as good of a place as any... anyone have one of those portable charging blocks? Looking to buy one. I can just go by amazon reviews I suppose, but interested to see if anyone here has a recommendation.

I've had an Anker Astro E4 for a number of years now, which has served my iPhones and Kindles well. Anker makes quality stuff, and you'll be able to find one for under $40 easily. I think this is the newest version of it. If you're going on an international flight, there's a good chance that you'll have access to at least a USB port at your seat, too.

Nice.
I'm a big backer of Anker products. I think every single USB cable that I use daily is Anker (not that that super matters), and all of my portable chargers/power banks/etc are Anker.
