No Hallmark and Lifetime for $50 is a bit puzzling. But we're giving it a go, and it's running well so far. Zero buffering unlike Spectrum's streaming service.
The menu is fine on the iPad and Pixel.

You could do that with Vue, designate whatever channels as a 'favorite' and it would sort (alphabetically) to the front of the Guide. For example, we had about 30 channels set as Favorites, we only had to navigate through those 30 channels if we wanted. But I didn't know this was an option with YTTV, I shall give it a go.But with YoutubeTV you can order them however you want. I am not sure what the issue is. I put all the useless college sports channels at the bottom, whereas with Vue I had to scroll past the BIG TEN NETWORK and it's 15 alt channels every....single....time.
You can edit the channel lineup on a computer and it reflects in the apps. It's nice.

Pluto TV is fun so far.YoutubeTV is pretty great, I was surprised by it.
@Spangler mentioned it in another thread, but Pluto TV is free and has a ton of content. It's ad supported by commercials, like old style TV, but the selection is pretty robust. It has a channel that is nothing but MST3k, what more could you want?
Watched Heart From Caesars Palace. Flipped through Octopussy. Saw the MST3K channel. This gun be gud.
One question, is everything low-res?

Seems so.
A company representative stated that the "resolution varies between VOD and Live, but generally, we stream at sub-HD resolution and 30fps across all devices."

Fail Army TV for hours of people hurting themselves...and no goofy hosts making bad jokes.

I flipped that on the other day and it was just people falling off of ladders. I turned to my wife and said we have effectively achieved Idiocracy, it's Ow! My Balls! but unscripted.

YouTube TV gave subscribers a free month (no auto subscription) of Epix, fwiw. I have no intentions of every subscribing to it, but I wanted to watch Berlin Station, so I'll probably be able to watch the entire run during the trial. Score!

His shows from home since this all started have been some of his better ones recently IMO. It took a few days to get all the audio kinks worked out, but it was a good listen.

Spend my money: what kind of laptop should I get? Really not concerned about price. Want something that is reliable and will last as long as possible. Use office suite and some basic photo programs. Not any gaming

How much is that X1, and what is your price range? And are you really looking for a screen that small?

1300 bucks. no real price range - just wan somehing reliable that will last for very long time that is priced appropriately. i use a 13" for work and it's fine but would go bigger. hadn't really considered it actually but now you are making me self conscious

I was going to recommend the Dell XPS 13 since you're comparing it to a Macbook Pro, but that's going to run you at least $300 more, and I'm not sure if the difference in hardware will matter to you. That X1 Carbon should be a nice pick. We have plenty of them at work, and the users love them.

I stand corrected - I was looking at the touch screen model. You can get the non-touch XPS 13 for $1249 (use coupon code 50OFF699): https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-la ... n7390dzmxs
