Anybody have Verizon for TV + internet? If so can I ask what package/how much?

I have Verizon internet (100/100) @ $112/month and that seems expensive for the speed. On top of that I’m paying DirecTV a ridiculous $175/month. Considering bundling with Verizon.
We have 3 boxes with whole house dvr, FiOS gig speed internet, and the 2nd highest channel pkg and I think we pay like $180 a month to Verizon.

I know we have some discounts from me haggling and doing auto pay, but it's not bad at all.
That would still save me like $100. Thanks

$163/month for FiOS Extreme HD, gigabit internet, and home phone. $15 of this is for my CableCards (TiVo); I have no Verizon STBs.

I have Verizon fios 200/200 internet only for 39.99.
If you have Verizon you can get -$10 a month for using autopay.
Wat. How long have you had that price? I use autopay and I’m at $112 for half the speed.
It’s been 39.99 for at least the last 2 years. When I first went internet only 6-7 years ago I believe it was 49.99 for 50/50. Check your account offerings frequently as new offers pop up. I think I went from 50/50->100/100->200/200. I’m in pittsburgh, and have internet only.

Lol of course. These streaming services are creaming their jeans thinking about tier based subs with ads.

No. NHL.tv is now included with ESPN+. The standalone NHL.tv is no more.

I normally have my desktop act as my media machine...it HDMI's into a television as it's ordinary monitor. Sometimes in loops through a stereo receiver - but not now.

I'm now connecting the same machine to a different TV, in a different room, and it's not playing sound through the TV...it's playing it through the desktop in the other room. I pursued the obvious steps of going to the playback devices, even clicked "show disabled" or whatever devices and the TV just isn't obviously a choice...

There's something called "digital video recorder" which has those red, yellow, white (or whatever) cables as the icon...when I test that, the volume perks up on screen, but nothing makes a sound anywhere regardless of TV or computer volume. The only successful sound I can get is out the PC speakers...

What am I missing here...? This seems like such an obvious thing to accomplish...

Do you have anything that mentions “digital” in your speaker choices on your laptop when connected via HDMI? That would be why I assume you’d use. I don’t have anything to test with here.

Not that I obviously see...I just added my Samsung TV as a new device and my desktop recognizes it and says it's all connected properly...I restarted the device while it was connected to see if it just pick it up somehow...nothing doing...it seems like I'm missing something very stupid and small, but I just can't find it...oh well, I'll have to tackle it tomorrow...

Just got my forever TV. 77 inch OLED Sony Bravia. What a beast. Can’t believe how close to it you can get with a 4k stream and not see any pixelation.

Which model Sony?
A80J. It’s their tier 2 OLED. The tier 1 gives you pretty much nothing noticeably better, but costs an extra $5k.

The Android OS on their Bravias, I also like a lot.

It’s crazy that the 50 inch pioneer plasma i got in 2007 was waaaaay more expensive than this. Which is about 10,000% better.

Nice. If I were interested in an OLED, that’d probably be at the top of my list. Doesn’t work for my viewing habit/environment, though.

Any other FiOS customers notice that the TV plan rates were all increased by about $9 starting this month? @skullman80?

I'll have to look... our bill is on autopay so I don't really pay attention to it honestly.

Yesterday I realized my subwoofer isn't working. The power light's on and it made one hell of a thump when I unplugged the cable while it was still powered on (whoopsie) but it's not kicking on during movies. I bought a new cable to see if that makes a difference. Aside from that, I'm stumped.

First thing to do is check your settings to see if the sub is enabled in the mode you’re on.

Second thing I’d do is run the speaker setup again using the mic attached to the receiver. It should cycle through every speaker including the sub. If the sub works, it’s probably something dumb like the mode you have it on not including the sub.

My sub had two knobs. One for sensitivity (gain?) and one for 'volume.' I just fiddle with the sensitivity one until it kicks on during movies. That said I haven't actually hooked it up since I moved.

Settings look good. I need to find that mic and run the speaker set up again. I'm sure it's around here. Somewhere... ;)

I can't remember the last time it kicked on. Probably months.

I don’t know if your model has it, but my Yamaha has an on-screen menu that has an option for testing each speaker right from there without the mic. Basically allows you to manually adjust the levels on each speaker.
