Agree on Chromecast and streaming. I have one built in to my tv in the mancave, and one 2nd generation out on the porch.. both stream flawlessly whenever used for NFL stuff or other internet streams.

Are you guys using the chromecast to find the streams or just mirror the streams from another device?

Mirror streams for me. NFL games use reddit to find and either stream it from my tablet or from the PC in the other room from chrome browser to chromecast either in mancave or on porch. Are you guys using the chromecast to find the streams or just mirror the streams from another device?

Just to mirror the streams (from Reddit). I actually use the TV Cast apps to handle the streaming because it blocks all of the ads and bullshit. Just click on any streaming link, and the app pulls the stream for me to click on below the page and I’m off and running. Are you guys using the chromecast to find the streams or just mirror the streams from another device?

Got it. I use airplay from my MacBook to my AppleTV so I guess it's basically the same thing. Though, that TV Cast sounds interesting.

I bought the bundle when it was on sale (under $5, I think). It came with separate apps for Chromecast, Fire TV, Samsung, LG, Roku, and DLNA UPnP.

Is PCNC still a thing? Tried to tune it in to check the weather to decide if I'm having soccer practice and crapcast tells me "this requires a subscription."
I wouldn't pay extra for it but this makes 3 channels- ID, Tru TV and PCNC that I have tried now to watch, and got blocked with apparently no way to get. ID pisses me off and Tru TV will if I don't have for March Madness.
If crapcast doesnt have PCNC anymore is it actually still a thing? Channel 11's website has a link for Night Talk but otherwise no evidence of it.

I would only use PCNC to watch the PA Farm Show. I do believe their online access is a fee-based service.

PCNC tours was a good show. Notably episodes were the cigar factory in Scranton and the zippo factory in Bradford.

A buddy shared a link to be friends on PLEX. He has over 4000 movies saved to his account. For me to view those as we are now friends on there, do I have to pay a yearly fee with this plex pass or can I access them another way? I don't know how PLEX works

I ended up acquiring an Android TV box from somebody I went to HS with when I was home last weekend. It's much clearer than I thought it would be.

ATTSN now has live streaming in their app. The problem now is they don't have an Apple TV app and seem to have airplay disabled from my iPad.
Any ideas if this is the case?

Just tested and it looks like you’re right. It also seems to be set up for only portrait mode orientation so even if you’re able to air play, it would be vertical on the screen. And last I heard, Pens games will be blacked out. I think both Pens and Pirates games are blacked out.
(Oops, that's MLS that is not available for streaming and not MLB)
Also, if you're travelling outside of the viewing area, it doesn't work.

Oh, well that stinks. I just assumed Pirates (which I watched last night) meant Pens would be on too.

I've come into about 4,000 CDs of music that I would like to backup. I would like to back everything up in Google and probably itunes. I don't want to have to pop in a disc for each program. I was thinking about getting an external hard drive and slowly back everything to that while at work however long that takes and then use that to feed everything to Google and/or itunes. What's the best way to go about this?

How many DVD-ROM drives can you control with your PC? Other than buying a dedicated outboard piece of kit for $500, that's probably your best bet.

As a childless man I was going to suggest 'intern', but I guess your idea is pretty much the same thing.

Figure a few minutes per CD to convert into MP3s. Not worth the time, IMO.

I'm not excited to do it, and with Amazon unlimited, there really isn't a point, but that's why I was wondering if I should back it to a hard drive first and then I could feed all of the files into the program at once rather than cd at a time for each? Would that work? This project is more of a passion project than anything. There is some personal history to the CD collection and I feel like it's my responsibility to do this rather than see the collection go to some random stranger for free.Figure a few minutes per CD to convert into MP3s. If some of those CDs are 25+ yeas old they will probably have lost data.

If they were kept in their cases, they could be fine. And yes, eddy, I would start with ripping all of the CDs using a program that will also save the metadata. iTunes will work, but it'll also add the ripped files to your library automatically.
