It sounds like the NFL is going to allow streaming to phones and tablets (not sure about PCs) without a cable subscription. Smart TVs and STBs seem like they will still require you use the CBS or Fox app and then sign in through your cable company.

I'll be curious to see what all is possible on Sunday.

Thank you. I got my hopes up that it might mean I could watch Steelers games out of market, but I guess not. Illegal streams it is.

Hm, that's at the upper limit of screen size for our viewing distance (about 8' on the nose). Thanks for the flag. :thumb:

I just did a quick search on BB.com, and they offer a VIZIO P-Series 55" 2150p for under $500. That's staggering.

Blue planet 2 uhd is on sale on Amazon for $35. I'd say that's worth 7 hours of 4k eye candy for your new TV's. If it's anything like planet Earth 2, it will be worth it

Blue Planet 2, like anything narrated by Sir David Attenborough, is simply amazing.

Good to hear, I've been holding out for a price drop. I look forward to watching this with the family.

Amazon seems to be announcing dozens of new devices right now. A new Echo, Echo Input (connects to your own speaker), Sub, etc.

Echo input is nice, that's basically how I use my dot now.

Honestly, I don't see a point to it. For $10 more, you can get the Dot which supports more features (like BT calling).

I did request an invitation for the Echo Auto, and pre-ordered a smart outlet. I don't like the look of the new Echo Dot, and prefer the current, hockey puck style.

The Recast looks pretty interesting for cord-cutters.

I didn't realize you could call on them until my kids somehow had my ex boss on the line yelling and screaming that they didn't know what was happening. Fun times.

 Mine called me yesterday at work using the Echo, and that is why I don't allow Alexa access to my phone's contact list.

I liked my Roku until Netflix decided to make their interface play previews of the show you hover over causing handshake issues with my AVR and TV, so now I use android TV

I prefer the Roku interface to the Amazon interface personally. I like being able to jailbreak the firestick though easily. I have both in my house as well as chromecast.

Chromecast is still the clear winner when talking about streaming NHL/NFL games. I'm basically at a 99% success rate with it, as opposed to Fire's 35-50% success rate.
