Thanks for your help eddy and everyone else who contributed to my TV hunt. Much appreciate being able to bounce ideas around.
Bought one of the TVs from Amazon. Arrived in Pittsburgh on the 3rd. Shipping company won't deliver it until the 15th after promising 6th-8th. Won't let me bring a commercial vehicle and pick it up, either. Starting to get a little pissed about it. Mostly I understand the realities of logistics and things happen, but on the other hand telling me to go **** myself when all I want to do is drive over and do their work for them has turned my mood a bit sour.
Call Amazon and complain. They're likely to refund you some cash for the hassle.

The problem is squarely with the Pittsburgh local agent (George Moving & Storage in Freedom, PA) that took the job knowing they couldn't fulfill the request. Donna over there says "we're just booked up." The intermediate shipper (AIT Logistics) has been as helpful as possible but they're getting stonewalled by George. They're 20 miles from my house, and again, I offered to pick it up in buddies box truck, not like I said I'd swing by with the MINI, and they said no.

The TV was sold on Amazon from a place in Arizona so I'm not sure what stake Amazon has here other than being a payment processor. Everyone has been really efficient in the chain until it got to George Moving & Storage.

I'd still call Amazon. They can be persuasive.

And you should have said you'd pick it up in the Delorean.

Yeah. I think at that point I'd invoke Amazon from the start.

They got them to push up the delivery to Monday, which is a WFH day so I don't have to shuffle around my schedule. I'll take it.

Just annoying because I traded my PS4 for a PS4 Pro and it's just been sitting there doing nothing at all. I hooked it up to my old TV and made sure it had all the updates and games downloaded, then took the old TV to another house.

I don't think it's fair to hold Amazon, the seller, or AIT accountable for this. And GMS is three degrees removed from Amazon; what do they care? All a call to Amazon would do is punish the wrong person. Hopefully AIT takes this feedback and finds a better agent here in Pittsburgh.

That's why you call Amazon, IMO. They can investigate the issue from their end of things. We had this exact same thing happen years ago with my father's TV.

When I login to the Order on the site the shipping portion is not expressely covered by the A-to-Z Guarantee, probably because it was not fulfilled from an Amazon warehouse. I called the number (hate you guys) and tried to explain this to the outsourced call center and now I'm on hold while they putz around. Blah. I don't even want anything, why did you make me call?
