Neither of those worked.

Open a command window (type 'cmd' at the Windows search screen on the Windows menu) and type 'ipconfig' and see what IP is set for your Default Gateway. That's probably your router.

Myfiosgateway.com may work too if you have the quantum FiOS gateway modem/router.
It's something like that.

He's not on Verizon, he has some podunk internet service named Armstrong.
Try (click on) http://192.168.0.1 and https://192.168.0.1, in case your browsers are also forgetting to add the full link.
This would get you the IP, too, but according to the manual the IP is going to be 192.168.0.1 unless you managed to change it. I have no idea why the connection method would matter here, but you could always try plugging your laptop directly into the router via ethernet to see if that gets you to the console.Open a command window (type 'cmd' at the Windows search screen on the Windows menu) and type 'ipconfig' and see what IP is set for your Default Gateway. That's probably your router.

Yeah I'm perplexed why one of those won't work for him. It's pretty standard. He's not on Verizon, he has some podunk internet service named Armstrong.

I was texting my neighbor last night who is in the IT tech field. We pinged stuff, tried numerous things, and it still didn't work. It was coming back my IP address was 192.168.40.1.
He is coming down this weekend to figure it out. But it's frustrating.

Your default gateway is guaranteed to be the IP of your router. Run ipconfig /all to see everything, and try that IP again.

He has me try to log on using http://192.16.40.1 and https://192.16.40.1
Had me try to use the above http and https strings and add /login.asp
Still continued to get "This page can't be found".
He wanted me to unplug the router and plug it back in to clear any backlog and try it, but by that time I was ready for bed. He said he'd just come down on Saturday to do it himself because he can't figure out why this isn't working. Said it should be pretty simple and straight forward.
I sent him the router and model number and he said he'll ask around and look some stuff up.

I love throwing out the PEBKAC reason for something not working and the confused look that follows.

Anyone here doing any home automation using tablets as dashboards? I'm looking into doing a Home Habit dashboard to connect to all of my SmartThings devices, as well as using Ring's new Rapid Ring app so that it automatically launches the doorbell camera upon being triggered. I was going to use my old Fire HDX 8.9, but the OS is too old to sideload the Google Play store on it, so I have to wait until I upgrade my daughter's Fire.

So, my neighbor wasnt' able to make it down to help this weekend, but he did ask, is there anything else sending out the wifi signal in the house. I have 2 "pods" I'd guess you call it plugged in the house to provide enhanced wifi to make the signals stronger. He said that could be the issue and to plug directly into the router. I'm going to try that this evening.
Any thoughts?

I don't see how that would be the issue, since those extenders should have their own IP address, but I would still try plugging directly into the router anyway to cut out that variable.
