Black Friday and Other Great Deals

After seeing the new Pokemon game, I am trying my best not to purchase a Switch.
I got the pokemon game and ball, just waiting for the switch now. Hopefully doing things backward this late won't screw me. It's for Christmas for the kids.

Hoping Dell has some decent Black Friday deals. I have an CC with them at no balance and the TSA broke my laptop when I went to Texas last week.

Absolutely. Leslie Nielson is the bad guy. Ton loc and Rob Schneider both received supporting Oscar nods as well.

We will be buying Dell notebook soon, so I have a question: if Dell already has "Black Friday 2018" deals on this page (https://deals.dell.com/) is there a decent chance that on the actual Black Friday, there will be more/cheaper notebook deals?

Yes. They're the Toyota Corolla of PCs. I think the last non-Dell I bought was a Compaq in 2003ish. My wife was still in college.

The Dell machine I'm replacing was purchased for $349 over four years ago, and it was a refurb. It would still be working if TSA hadn't messed with it. This isn't even considering the work machines I've had going back to 2006.

I'm going to go on that experience over your really edgy take.

That said, Dell no longer offers a laptop under $1,400 with a removable battery so I might not be buying one at all.

My take isn’t edgy. The hardware itself is just poor quality. I’m not even referring to the internal components, mind you. The case, keyboard, and trackpad just feels poorly made. If all you want is a cheap beater, then you probably (and apparently) don’t care.

Eh, again, my E6510 went all over the place with me and never broke an individual component until TSA did god knows what to it. My current desktop is an Alienware Aurora R6 and it's also doing well. It replaced an XPS that ran for 5 years and lived in three different states with me.

Maybe just take better care of your stuff (oh wait, you're not a user of this product)? I don't know how the low end consumer offering hold up, but their mid to upper level products do very well.

I’m referring to newer non-Alienware/XPS hardware, so it sounds like we were almost in agreement with that point. My negative comments are directed at Latitude and Inspiron. We have some Latitude’s at work for a POC, and I’ve fixed my neighbor’s Inspiron a number of times to have a good feel for it.

I'm just fighting with you to drain the clock. My one real point of contention is that I used to do desktop support of almost exclusively Dell Optiplex machines and never saw systemic failures that would represent a trend.

We’re switching from Lenovo to HP at work, so it’ll be interesting trying to support all of this hardware up front. It’ll be years before we replace the entire fleet.
